These photos were taken in Norwich, NY, on WayStead Acres Farm, Chenango County. Hummingbird Moths and Bees love this plant! It looks like a winged lobster to me! On to Page Two. The New York State Fair. Lots of chickens and other animals. A search for Rexford Falls. And finding the Sherburne Historic District.

Corning Museum of Glass. Cows in the Pond. It's high summer in. August 1, 2006. And We're Having a Heat Wave. The cows at the Wells Farm have found a way to keep cool, up to their middles in the algae-covered pond. To beat the heat, we took a drive to Corning, NY, to go to the Corning Museum of Glass. We were particularly interested in two exhibits, Splitting the Rainbow and Glass of the Maharajahs. Glass of the Maharajahs" shows cut glass furnishings made by European glassmakers for Indian royalty.

Enchanted Woods Children's Park. October 1, 2006. We took the little open air bus from the main building on a tour of the grounds. Then we got off at the Enchanged Woods children's park. This is not part of the original estate, but is a modern creation. This little house just begs you to go in and out the windows. There are lots of little touches that are charming. With the coming of the Revolutionary War, the church was enclosed by a log stockade in 1777, which was removed in 1785. when the building resumed its function as a church. During the civil war, the building was used as an armory, until the 1880s. In 1888, the Schoharie Historical Society began operating it as a museum. By 1899, it had a catalog of 2500 items. We know how to pick them. Off on an adventure - we drove to Rome, New York, to find Fort Stanwix. It is in the middle of town. To get ready for the bicentennial, it was decided to reconstruct this Revolutionary War fort. The only original item is part of a hearth. It is easily accessible, open to the public, free. June 6, 2000.
