Hannah's Happy Hens: March 2008
http://hannahshappyhens.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 28, 2008. The post office called. And we went and picked up the chicks and ducklings. The chicks are Partridge Chanteclers. The ducklings are Khaki Campbells. I ordered four females and one male but we lost one in shipping so we'll have to wait to see if we still have a male or not. Tuesday, March 18, 2008. Sunday, March 16, 2008. But I don't want to go to bed. They were out of Buff Orpingtons. But we were able to get two Rhode Island Reds. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Subscribe in a reader.

Tales of a country girl wannabe and her downtown hens. Laquo; Me and Ewe, Ewe and Me. Government supports irradiating beef to prevent E. coli. December 4, 2007 by Laura. Life is short. Visiting home always gets me, and by side effect Mike, dreaming of moving off of our city lot. Maybe this cabin-style house half way to the country is the one? Only Saturday afternoon will tell. In the spirit of the dream, we had local chicken fried steak, country gray, mashers and salad for dinner tonight. You are comment...

Tales of a country girl wannabe and her downtown hens. The smallest chicken egg I’ve ever seen. Government supports irradiating beef to prevent E. coli. December 5, 2007 by Laura. The New York Times published an article about the seeming increase in E. coli contamination this year. The government has issued guidelines that are supposed to increase meat safety, but are no more stringent than what Tyson Foods is already doing. The NY Times studiously fails to mention that CAFOs and feedlots by their very n...

Hannah's Happy Hens: broody Patsy with Gimpy
http://hannahshappyhens.blogspot.com/2008/06/broody-patsy-with-gimpy.html
Wednesday, June 11, 2008. Broody Patsy with Gimpy. Patsy has been broody for about a week, every time we go out to the coop we boot her off the nest box and she fluff up like a turkey and struts around . . . silly chicken. Wow- I've never seen a chicken do that. Weird. June 11, 2008 at 6:54 PM. We sold our ranch eight years ago and the only thing I really miss are my chickens. Love your clips. Have mixed emotions: enjoyment with a touch of longing. Silly, eh? June 17, 2008 at 12:04 PM.

Monday, April 28, 2008. Something in the water? It was Gimpy's turn to lay a huge egg today. Now it isn't as large as the one Naomi laid last week, but above average for sure.
