Muddy Paws: March 2010
http://muddypawsknits.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Life as I know it is not a source of wonder. It just involves a lot of dirt. Wednesday, March 31, 2010. A Mound of Mittens. One pair of red and white maple leaf mittens for Katie. Lead to another pair. And then another pair. And then another pair. Each time I made more modifications until I ended up changing things beyond recognition from the original pattern construction. There are actually a couple of other changes I would still like to make, but I just plain got tired of making mittens. K 16, Inc 1 st...

Life as I know it is not a source of wonder. It just involves a lot of dirt. Thursday, June 24, 2010. It just won't stop. It is still raining too hard for me to go out and check the damage, but Katie felt brave enough to run out in a lull and gather up the hail from the trampoline. She also must have been cold since the temperature dropped over 10 degrees in about as many minutes. Silly kid. I took the pictures from the relative safety of the house. Oh for pity's sake! Muddy Paws: June 2009
http://muddypawsknits.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Life as I know it is not a source of wonder. It just involves a lot of dirt. Tuesday, June 2, 2009. The Opps Yarn Turned Out Pretty Good (Even if I Do Say So Myself). The very bright roving that Susan dyed (and partly felted) is finally all spun up and ready to knit. It turned out a lot better than I thought it would. I never anticipated that it would end up as even as it did. Maybe it was that magic Elizabeth wheel. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Muddypaws Knit Knacks Etsy Shop.
Muddy Paws: November 2009
http://muddypawsknits.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Life as I know it is not a source of wonder. It just involves a lot of dirt. Monday, November 23, 2009. The Bottomless Pit of Merino. I suppose that if you have to have a mound of fibre waiting to be spun that never seems to go down in volumn it could be a lot worse things than superwash merino. It seems like I have been spinning this merino forever! Get it finished today. I started out with 200 grams of fibre and I have the fine singles on 2 bobbins. My dilemma now is that I don't have a clue what to do...

Dog-Lover's Yarn: humour me
http://dogloversyarn.blogspot.com/2012/12/humour-me.html
Ramblings from a knitter, a dedicated dog-lover, and a primary teacher, not necessarily in that order. Monday, December 17, 2012. One more baby pic from yesterday. Carmen took this one on her camera with the flash so it's nicer than mine. Looks like they were having quite the conversation, doesn't it? I used to have a blog but then I started working at Chicos and abandoned the blog. Anyway I came across it again and thought Id check in on you. Congratulations on your new baby grandaughter!
Dog-Lover's Yarn: slowly; very, very slowly
http://dogloversyarn.blogspot.com/2013/04/slowly-very-very-slowly.html
Ramblings from a knitter, a dedicated dog-lover, and a primary teacher, not necessarily in that order. Saturday, April 20, 2013. Slowly; very, very slowly. Our everlasting winter continues. Spring is sending hints that she may arrive one day after all but she sure can't be accused of being forward about it. Our daily high temperatures are still hovering around the freezing mark even on sunny days. I did a search of my blog for dates of my rhubarb pictures in past years. In 2006. It was April 7; in 2008.
Dog-Lover's Yarn: always winter
http://dogloversyarn.blogspot.com/2013/03/always-winter.html
Ramblings from a knitter, a dedicated dog-lover, and a primary teacher, not necessarily in that order. Friday, March 22, 2013. Before Aslan was on the move. Those sunny, warm two weeks in Mexico already feel like a distant memory. The storm this week was particularly brutal because high winds blew the snow into packed drifts that couldn't be navigated by regular vehicles. There were accidents, stranded travellers, and closed highways. This is what it looks like in our back yard today. Chronicles of the L...
Dog-Lover's Yarn: my google girl
http://dogloversyarn.blogspot.com/2013/02/my-google-girl.html
Ramblings from a knitter, a dedicated dog-lover, and a primary teacher, not necessarily in that order. Wednesday, February 13, 2013. Our sweet little Berlyn just shy of two months old when I took this picture last weekend. Isn't she a beauty? She is now cooing and smiling these big open-mouthed baby smiles. Totally melts my heart. Her favorite cooing sound is goo followed by a gurgle so that it sounds like google. She's a girl ahead of her time. We love her so much! Using the handspun Spunky Eclectic.
Dog-Lover's Yarn: May 2013
http://dogloversyarn.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Ramblings from a knitter, a dedicated dog-lover, and a primary teacher, not necessarily in that order. Monday, May 13, 2013. And now it's summer. We had more than six months of long cold winter, about a week of spring, and now it's summer! For a few more weeks. Our sweet Berlyn turned five months old on the weekend. She is adorable and inquisitive and finally giving her parents a break by sleeping through the night. Here she is in her jumperoo. Finally, welcome back to earth Chris Hadfield. We had anothe...
Dog-Lover's Yarn: baby mine
http://dogloversyarn.blogspot.com/2013/02/baby-mine.html
Ramblings from a knitter, a dedicated dog-lover, and a primary teacher, not necessarily in that order. Monday, February 04, 2013. Link to my Rav project page. This is a lovely pattern and I have enough yarn left over to make a pair of Baby Merry-Janes. If I use the leftover yarn from the little Maile Cardi. For the inner socks. When I ordered the yarn I couldn't decide between the Quilla colorway. That Yarn Harlot used for her pattern or the more pink Rosebud. Beautiful and sweet little sweater :-).

Dog-Lover's Yarn: January 2013
http://dogloversyarn.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Ramblings from a knitter, a dedicated dog-lover, and a primary teacher, not necessarily in that order. Saturday, January 19, 2013. Guess who came to our house tonight while mommy and daddy went out for supper? She was alert and happy for quite a while before she took this nap. Papa is a good person to snuggle with because he is soft and warm. Links to this post. Friday, January 11, 2013. Another kitchen window pic. This what I can see (or more accurately, not see) of the park. The poor wee one is sufferi...
Dog-Lover's Yarn: 5 days old
http://dogloversyarn.blogspot.com/2012/12/5-days-old.html
Ramblings from a knitter, a dedicated dog-lover, and a primary teacher, not necessarily in that order. Sunday, December 16, 2012. We spent a lovely evening at Geoff and Carmen's. Berlyn is so sweet! Didn't use the flash for these pictures so as not to bug the baby so the quality isn't the greatest but the content makes up for it. Berlyn is such a sweet baby! Carmen and Geoff have taken to parenthood like ducks to water! Every baby should be so lucky to have such a great mommy and daddy! Heart Like a Wheel.

Muddy Paws in Pittsburgh. The down-and-dirty on raising a Jack Russell Terrier in Pittsburgh. Sunday, November 15, 2009. Finding Fun around the House and the New Trainer. At times like these, the little angel finds his own fun with socks, shoes and my collection of Brides Magazines. In his eyes I shouldn't be:. He said this diminishes my power as the alpha.
