A long distance marriage. July 24, 2012. We’ve made it halfway. Ironically, we thought our days of separation were over when Nick left the Marine Corps. Life happens, though, and he was offered a seasonal position at Point Reyes National Seashore with the National Park Service. After enduring another Minnesota winter, though mild, it’s hard to resist a summer on the coast. It was too good to pass up, so in May we packed up the car and headed west. This little guy joined us for lunch on my last visit.

A two year project. April 13, 2012. I have a habit of imagining that I have more free time than I do. I only work 45ish hours a week. No kids. One dog. I should have loads of extra time. But outside of work, my time management skills leave a lot to be desired. And so for two years, I’ve been trying to get myself to make new cushions for an old thrifted chair. I finally did it.
