Lunar Eclipse on Jun 15th, 2011. June 16, 2011 in Fun. What’s even cooler is that not everyone around the world got to see the whole thing, for only some areas on the globe were able to witness the total eclipse, some only partial eclipse, and some witnessed no eclipse at all! I think we were lucky to have seen it here in Kuwait. I’m gona leave you with some photos that me and my sister took while spending the night on the roof! Ghadah Alkandari's Pretty Green Bullet. A fading identity in the architectural history of Kuwait. October 8, 2011 in Architecture. A few days ago I was with my friend driving around some residential areas in Kuwait. I noticed some of the older houses which had really unique, rather futuristic forms with unusual extrusions and extreme angles, the sort of forms that you would find on The Jetsons! Movie review: The Artist. March 10, 2012 in Art. The film tells a story of a silent movie star George Valentin whose pride cause him to be forgotten due to the arrival of talking pictures. He sparks with Peppy Miller, a young dancer set for a big break. The movie won seven British Academy Film Awards, three Golden Globes, and five Academy Awards. This is one extraordinary movie that is worth the watch and is very nice for a change. Ghadah Alkandari's Pretty Green Bullet. Comments feed for this article.

Trip to Ajman: the good, the bad, and the ugly! March 27, 2011 in Architecture. I haven’t blogged in a while even though I have a lot going on in my head, but I guess I was too busy to sit down and write. I’ll just start from the top. I’m not sure which is better to start with, but I guess I’ll go with the bad one in order to end the entry with a smile. The workshop! We went to Dubai Mall twice, once to Emirates Mall and entered Dubai Ski which was really fun, Dubai Atlantis, drove alongside the cutest h...

Surviving Architecture! | cottonskys
https://cottonskys.wordpress.com/2011/06/14/surviving-architecture
June 14, 2011 in Architecture. Well, hello again! It’s been forever since I last posted anything here, and as I’ve been always saying lately: I blame Architecture! Yesterday I took my last final exam in KU, and I can now officially consider myself an architect! For some odd reason that I cannot really comprehend, architecture students often get projects that are impossible to be done if they get more than 4 hours of sleep per day; it’s like there’s a rule or something! I got so much into the working mode...

Buckyballs | cottonskys
https://cottonskys.wordpress.com/2011/06/25/buckyballs
June 25, 2011 in Fun. Buckyballs are a set of 216 tiny magnetic balls that you can shape and mold into hundreds of different shapes and forms. You can put them up together as one object or separate them into single balls, make them a long chain or different sized cubes. Buckyballs are very entertaining to play with and work perfectly as a small gift, especially for guys! I bought them in Kuwait from Virgin Mega Store. They had them in three colors: silver, gold, and metallic black. Worth buying! You are ...

Pretty clouds everywhere | cottonskys
https://cottonskys.wordpress.com/2012/01/11/pretty-clouds-everywhere
January 11, 2012 in Kuwait. It’s been a cloudy week in Kuwait now. I love clouds. I love everything about them; their shapes, their colors, the contrast they create, and of course, rain. In days like these, whenever I’m walking or driving around, I have my gaze pointed up at the sky admiring its celestial beauty. Go outside and do the same! These photos are all taken with my iPhone camera during the past few days, some are enhanced on Instagram. Ghadah Alkandari's Pretty Green Bullet.

Kuwait and February decorations | cottonskys
https://cottonskys.wordpress.com/2012/02/07/kuwait-and-february-decorations
Kuwait and February decorations. February 7, 2012 in Controversial. It’s the 7th of February now, and day by day we’re seeing more flags and decorative lights announcing the celebrations of Kuwait’s national and independence days. A thing that I find very sad, and I mean. And their glow wasn’t at all appealing. The same lights were placed in other areas in the form of some kind of skirt or something. You can see a photo that I took last year. Ghadah Alkandari's Pretty Green Bullet. Enter your comment here.
