http://beansandtaters.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 30, 2013. The scoop on spring. We've been busy and this blog has been neglected. Between fun and work and school and trips and activities, there's been too much going on to sit and document all of it. But I'll try. We do movie night on slow Fridays. This time the dollies joined us. Santa Barbara - Spring Break. At Kid's World Park in downtown Santa Barbara. She only looks like she's wrestling this dolphin statue - but she won. Gaviota State Beach - Spring Break. View from the pier. Claire lo...

Saturday, January 12, 2013. My kids say funny things - most kids do - and I write them on the calendar whenever I can. Sometimes I forget. This is the last two years worth - they're 9 and almost 6 right now. Be warned, they are my children, so eating and farting are favorite subjects. Audrey “Advice is something you don’t have to listen to if you don’t want to.”. Claire “I don’t wike dowympics.” (I don’t like the Olympics). Claire “I love you daddy. You know what else I love? Claire “Is it openable?

Audrey, our beautiful little 3-pound preemie baby is about 65 pounds these days and quite grown up. We are so proud of her. Audrey is in 5th grade and busy, busy every day with her school work, piano, piles of books to read, and questions about the world including weather, fashion, politics, manners, pyschology and so much more. She keeps us hopping. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sept 1...

Beansandtaters: April 2013
http://beansandtaters.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 26, 2013. Peacocks in Palos Verdes. There are wild peacocks roaming the nearby hills. When Mark and I first moved here we went for a drive and then a walk that stopped abruptly when we saw a peacock, with feathers unfurled, tap dancing on somebody's driveway. The homeowner happened to step outside, and I asked "Is that your peacock? He looked at me like I was quite stupid and explained that the peacocks just go where they want. Claire celebrated her birthday with her classmates. We had ...

Friday, May 13, 2011. Flynn Easter Traditions in St. George. I have the ultimate grandparents. Dick and June are just like a pair sent straight from central casting to the set of a Hallmark movie. They like to sit in the motel room at the same place they’ve been coming for twenty years. Since childhood we in my immediate family have called them Farmor and Farfar – Swedish for father’s mother and father’s father. To the rest of the family they are Grandma and Grandpa. Super 8, I think. 8221; but also reve...

Friday, September 11, 2009. Give Me One More Hit. The US. Open is like a drug. And I've been addicted to it all this week and most of last. The quarterfinals are basically over, although the Nadal-Gonzales match remains undecided as of today. Rain. If I had my druthers, Caroline Wozniacki would win the women's title and Rafa would win the men's. It would mean a career Grand Slam (Australian, French, Wimbledon and U.S.) for Nadal.
