The adventures of starting our family through gestational surrogacy. Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Since we have time off for the holidays, we finally get a chance to catch up on everyone's blogs. Adriana started walking in May at just 9 months while Dayana started walking in early July at 10.5 months. We've had ...

HOPE FROM THE ASHES. My beautiful little baby isn’t so little anymore. She loves chocolate and hats. Ariadne’s 1st Easter–can’t believe she’s almost a year old! Reflections on seven months…. In month seven, she mastered her first sippy cup, though she chokes on water at times and she’d rather chew the cup than drink from it. She is a sweet, wonderful baby, and she brings joy to our every day! We are so thankful to God, Dr. Shivani, our amazing surrogate Sita, the staff at SCI, and everyone else in In...

HOPE FROM THE ASHES. Reflections on seven months…. She did not babble as much in month seven, but she is working on her sense of humor. She belly laughs often, and gets slap-happy when she is tired at night. Alex and I play a game of trying out odd words that might make her laugh. So far, our winners have been: Mufasa, pants, dizzy, and Jamaica, or Jamaican Me Crazy! In month seven, she mastered her first sippy cup, though she chokes on water at times and she’d rather chew the cup than drink from it.

HOPE FROM THE ASHES. IT WAS ENOUGH TO MAKE A BABY CRY. However, Ariadne was released late Wednesday night, and the Embassy changed the DNA test to Thursday afternoon. Crunch time. Ignoring jet lag and Delhi belly, this would still be quite the rush. It was enough to scream and, in fact, Ariadne did. And then waited with us at every stop. (Rahul, if you read this, we meant to tip him, but stress made us forget! WE HAVE A BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL! Thank you, Jesus, for a healthy baby and for answered prayers...

HOPE FROM THE ASHES. Jill is a librarian and former English teacher who loves children’s books and young adult literature. She adores her husband and parents, and sometimes her students. Alex is a history teacher who loves his wife and dislikes writing short blurbs about himself. He loves comics, Eastern European literature, and biking, but not at the same time. They both love traveling and excellent food. Thankfully, Jill is a fine cook, and Alex is a phenomenal food taster. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

HOPE FROM THE ASHES. The (DNA) results are in…finally! On to the passport and exit visa! Here is our beautiful girl at 2 weeks old, post sponge bath, which she hated. Word of advice to all other America IPs: use the lab in Arizona! We had sent ahead for kits, so they were here long before we were, and the DNA samples were taken on April 13, received on April 16, and this was speedy for our lab, because normal processing time in 2-3 weeks! Thank you, Lord, for prayers answered! Apr 28, 2012. Apr 29, 2012.

Starting Our Family: January 2012
http://aaronandeddy.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
The adventures of starting our family through gestational surrogacy. Monday, January 23, 2012. 8 Weeks and Twin Storms. We usually get a lot of winter rain here in the Seattle area but very little snow. So far this winter had been pretty nice with little rain, no snow and the sun shining brightly almost everyday. All that changed last week when twin winter storms hit the pacific northwest (U.S.) bringing with them the largest snowfalls in decades. Twin Storms Hit Seattle. We were SO relieved. One thi...
