Diary of a Homeschooling Mummy. Friday, 6 February 2015. MEPs and the Sistine Chapel. The Plenum. A debate in the European Parliament among the MEPs and a final vote for law passing. We also had an introductory look at Italy today. The Boy and Panda Girl made the Leaning Tower of Pisa out of Lego. Thursday, 5 February 2015. A Quiet Sound, High Frequency Rollercoaster and Some Stereotypical Viking Pictures. And they both made a cute Viking display. Sewing on the sewing machine and drawing a circuit diagram.

We had a long discussion about Captain James Cook's three voyages, chartering the coast of New Zealand and 'discovering' the mythical land of Australia. The children made some Aboriginal dot paintings. Panda Girl and The Boy made the Great Barrier Reef where Cook was shipwrecked. Tuesday, 10 March 2015. Saturday, 29 September 2012. A Day trip to Zaragoza. Since our youngest son was leaving Spain before us and flying from Zaragoza, a place we had never visited, we decided to be generous parents and ferry him by car for his 7 pm flight. Wednesday, 16 January 2013. We really enjoyed hosting this and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves too. There were 9 adults and 11 children and some lovely costumes. We began with a shared table of Eastern and star shaped food which made a change after 12 days of mince pies and Christmas cake! We attempted a traditional Galette cake consisting of frangipane and puff pastry although due to health and safety we didn't hide anything in it :-). Some of the food and the 3 gifts. Monday, 18 March 2013. Stations of the Cross. We held a Lenten Family Day for the 2nd year at Osmotherley on the afternoon of 17. We arrived at the Lady Chapel and prayed the Holy Family Guild. Friday, 16 March 2012. A Family Way of the Cross in the Sun. Last Sunday we met at Osmotherley in North Yorkshire for our Lenten Way of the Cross for families. The origins of the Lady Chapel there are not known. A licence for Mass to be celebrated regularly in the chapel was granted in 1397 and it was given to the monks of the Carthusian Order in 1398.
