What is Ski Touring? Ski touring combines the adventure of mountaineering with the thrill of off-piste downhill skiing. The mountain is ascended by means of pivoting bindings and skins that are attached to the undersides of the skis and allow one to walk up the mountain without sliding back down. On the summit, after locking the bindings and peeling off the skins, the mountain can be skied down much the same as with ordinary downhill skis. Ski touring is NOT.
