Muriwai Volunteer Fire Brigade
A Proud Tradition in Muriwai. Muriwai Volunteer Fire Force was established in the 1965 by a group of locals who were worried that the communities isolation left it vulnerable to fires and other emergencies. The brigade started life as a 'Fire Party' out of a small shed (still present at the back of our current station) with fire fighting equipment that was funded by the community after a lot of hard work. Fundraising and effort from individuals in the community and brigade members.
