Small Things With Great Love: Home three months!
http://carrolllane.blogspot.com/2014/02/home-three-months.html
Monday, February 03, 2014. Three months ago James was placed in our arms. Hard to believe now.especially since it feels like he's always been in them. I could write a book about the last three months. All the amazing baby steps of progress I've seen on a daily basis are too many to count. He has more courage and more resilience than I have in my big toe. From the 40 times he physically falls down a day to all the change he has endured, he is a model of strength and joy. As children maybe we have more ope...

Small Things With Great Love: Just keep swimming...just keep swimming...just keep swimming.
http://carrolllane.blogspot.com/2013/11/just-keep-swimmingjust-keep.html
Monday, November 11, 2013. Just keep swimming.just keep swimming.just keep swimming. We've been home with James for over two weeks. At times, I am completely amazed at how seamlessly he has fit right into our family and how seamlessly our family has transitioned into a family of five. At other times, I feel like we are all swimming with our eyes closed…figuring out where we are going as we swim along, always unsure when we might crash into a wall. Swimming with my eyes closed I tell ya. Now to be clear, ...

Small Things With Great Love: Six years old.
http://carrolllane.blogspot.com/2014/01/my-dear-ellenie-well-that-picture-sums.html
Wednesday, January 08, 2014. My dear Ellenie,. Well, that picture sums it up. You, my love, are beyond words. I didn't know there could be SO MUCH in one teeny tiny body. So much love, so much loveliness. So much wit, so much charm. So much beauty, so much confidence. So much fun, so much wonder. So much sweetness, so much intelligence. Did I say so much personality? So much kindness, so much talent. So much laughter, so much silliness. So much creativity. So much. I love you so very much!

http://carrolllane.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 05, 2013. 100 things I can't wait to do when James is home:. 1 Kissing his cheeks. 2 Snuggling him when he's sleepy. 3 Making him giggle. 4 Holding him for the first time. 5 Reading him books. 6 Singing him songs. 8 Watching him play with his sisters in the bath. 9 Rolling a ball with him. 10 Watching Brad with his son. 11 Watching him sleep. 12 Watching him fall asleep. 13 Praying over him in my arms. 14 Listening to him laugh. 16 Seeing him sleep in his crib. 19 Soothing him when he cries.

Small Things With Great Love: October 2013
http://carrolllane.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 29, 2013. This was somewhere on the first full day we were home. Which was a Friday…I think. Thankful for all the joy he is experiencing and for all the overwhelming joy he is bringing to us. This kid is funny. And thank goodness he thinks I'm pretty funny too. So we laugh a lot. Since we've got to keep things simple for him while he adjusts to everything, you might not get to see this side of him but one day you will. Oh what a ham. I am so thankful. Saturday, October 26, 2013. These ar...

Small Things With Great Love: March 2012
http://carrolllane.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 28, 2012. New Month, new start. So far, 2012 has knocked us down and out of our routine. We seem to be drawn to every icky sickness that comes our way. But I am confident that we've paid our dues and will be immune to anything else. I can't believe we are 2/3 through the school year! Lillianna has grown so much this year and continues to make me so proud each and every day. She humbles me with her patience, her kindness, and generosity. My Ellenie has grown up so much since her birthday.
