Elijah Francis Graves: July 2013
http://www.elijahgraves.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 30, 2013. This summer I've been trying to mix in a little science and school work into our summer routine. So far we've experimented with salt water, cleaned pennies, and mixed baking soda and vinegar (as a part of making watercolor paints). Today we made Elephant Toothpaste. You can find a link to the tutorial here at Modern Parents Messy Kids. It is an easy experiment, made with ingredients we had on hand- yeast, dish soap, food coloring, and hydrogen peroxide. Thursday, September 12, 2013. We are hoping they teach pattern matching next. Sunday, September 8, 2013. For a perpetual student/teacher/slave to a school calendar, fall is kind of a somber time. No more carefree days, suddenly I know what a weekend is and it is way too short. why didn't they lobby for a three day weekend? New hiking boots courtesy of my neighbor's kick ass garage sale. new red laces have been ordered. Like father, like son. Stopping to take a picture of the beautiful nature scenery.

Monday, January 21, 2013. The dentist ordered X Rays, his first. The dentist gave him a clean bill of health, though he did order a soft diet (an excuse for more oatmeal and yogurt meals). He lisps a little, but that should stop once the swelling goes down. There is a chance the teeth will brown due to bruising, but he shouldn't lose them. His dentist is at Greenlake, so beforehand we hit the park. Running around the lake, Eli spotted this payphone:. To which he loudly yelled, "Hey mom, look!

Sunday, November 10, 2013. I'm not sure where the time has gone. Once minute it is summer and the next thing you know we are starting that fast slide into the Christmas season. I just got a new phone and so I finally took all the photos off my old phone and loaded them onto my computer. Now I am nostalgic for fancy free summertime with ice cream, sprinklers, and warm sun. our island five: December 2009
http://ourislandfive.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 28, 2009. Eating, skiing, and to top it all off, pushing the car back up the snowy hill. Looking super cute in their matching Helly Hansens. Not too happy about the snow suit. But much happier going down the sledding hill by himself. Ready to walk up to ski school. Annie coming down the hill. Riding the Magic Carpet. Working on his turns. A very happy christmas. The elves left jammies out on the porch on Christmas Eve. Jonah was excited. And Annie's Fur Real Kitty. We love a parade.

Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Jonah is now four. His birthday was on the 17th and his official party was last Saturday. The most exciting part of his birthday was that he got to move up to the preschool Sunday School class at church (he mentioned it about 20 times that day.) We also had a great afternoon celebrating Jonah and Andrea's birthdays at Michelle's house. Sandbox, BBQ, wading pool.it was a perfect day. His Big Star Wars Birthday Party was on Saturday with 11 kids! Child of the Day at school. Annie was...

Thursday, July 23, 2009. Things found and other news. Found in Zeke's diaper this morning (besides the obvious):. The letters "e" and "g" (both on beads). In related news, we have begun throwing away anything the kids leave on the floor. He now has 4 teeth (his first top one came in last week) and has 3 more coming in on the top. His favorite food is Shepherd's Pie. He devours it and screams until we give him more. He crawls really, really fast. When he is tired or needs comforting he plays with our teeth.
