During the afternoon I hitched the truck in readiness for departure in the morning. A curry was brewed. Pam's cold seems to be easing but I now have it, complete with dripping nose. This will be the final update to the blog while we are on holiday, although I will report our arrival home in a few days and perhaps add few pictures. Posted by Kilpike @ 8:44 pm. The most significant feature seen when driving across the Hay plains is the horizon; there are few objects to disguise the curvature of the earth. At the Hay Caltex service station where I re-fuelled there was a 75c surcharge for using a credit card, and unleaded cost 117.9 per litre. No more Caltex! Posted by Kilpike @ 7:42 pm.

Back at Lockhart we did a little grocery shopping, including a 1 litre bottle of River Run merlot. The bottle looks like a Darwin stubby. Back at the van we joined the two plastic strip curtains together and then supported the lot by Velcro strips across the annexe doorway. The colours of the plastic strips are red black and blue. I do hope these colours are not those of any Middle Eastern or Central European dictatorships unfriendly to George Bush and his willing mates. Late afternoon we walked along the river road.
