B S from the desert. Friday, May 9, 2014. Yesterday Bob and I went to Patagonia because Bob had seen a couple of birds listed on the "list serve" he watches. One was the Thick-billed Kingbird and the other was the Harris' Sparrow. We stopped at the area they had been seen, but it was a bust so we headed on over to Patton's. The picture below shows what a bright blue beautiful day we had. There were Hummingbirds galore at Patton's. A Broad-billed and a Black-chinned. This Broad-bill peeked around the post.

B S from the desert. Monday, July 20, 2009. We are well on our way through July. Where has the month gone? The month began with the 4th of July. For all of you who have animals that are sensitive to the fireworks, Green Valley is a great place to be. People don't light fireworks for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after. We're all tucked in by dark! On the 6th of July, Bob and I celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary by going out to dinner. We had a nice dinner and were home before dark!

B S from the desert. Saturday, January 30, 2010. THE VALLEY OF THE MOON! About 50 people attended the "Mystery Trip", and we all waited patiently to see what was going to happen. And then along came Angus! He's a gnome with an Irish accent and all. Bob looked on with interest? I put a lot of pictures in because you just can't understand the strangeness of this place unless you see for yourself. This is Carl. He was the instigator of this whole "Mystery Trip". It was just one strange thing after another!

B S from the desert. Saturday, February 28, 2009. PATAGONIA LAKE STATE PARK. Another day of birding to see the Trogon, but this time we headed to Patagonia Lake State Park. The birding hotline said a Trogan had been seen there so we had to go, right? We had a great day birding. We also saw a number of bulls and cows meandering through the scrub. We had to be careful where we stepped! Bob is looking at Common Mergansers, Gadwalls and some Ringneck Ducks. Even Bob was ready to go home by early afternoon.

B S from the desert. Monday, March 16, 2009. ANOTHER DAY OF BIRDING! Bob read on the birding site he watches that the migration of Black Hawks, Zone-tailed Hawks, Grey Hawks, and Turkey Vultures was in full swing at Tubac. Sunday morning we decided to check it out. As you can see from the picture below, we weren't the only ones checking it out. Bob waited patiently while I took other pictures around Tubac. A colorful blue door:. A wagon wheel in a wall:.
