The Highs and Lows of WebOS. Alas, poor webOS. Many of us had such high hopes for your potential as a viable alternative to iOS and Android. I was one of the many observers who was intrigued by the launch of webOS back in 2009 as the platform for the now defunct mobile division of the late Palm Inc., latterly Hewlett Packard. WebOS seemed like a great alternative for developers and consumers alike, using a stable mobile operating system that could support integrated web 2.0 systems.

What’s in a Name? We all use labels to describe what we do. I find myself using a variety of catchy titles to describe myself – education consultant, interactive designer, digital media specialist, etc. – the label varies based on the audience. But at a recent event for museum educators, I was surprised by the reaction of a delegate who peered at my event name badge and said, Oh, you’re a Digital Learning Consultant .
