Musical Beggar: August 2015
http://musicalbeggar.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
A Musical Journey to Publication. Monday, 17 August 2015. It has been a very productive few months. It would appear that the muse has decided to come back and join me again. In the past two months 5 songs have either been completed, or nearly completed. I have never written quite as fluently as this and the results are coming along nicely. They include a song about people watching, an anonymous victim of the serial killer Ted Bundy and a profile of a person I met a year ago. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Musical Beggar: February 2014
http://musicalbeggar.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
A Musical Journey to Publication. Sunday, 2 February 2014. After school finished I continued playing music and started on the flute. I purchased a new red strat copy (which I only passed on recently - 2013) and a few effects pedals. In the late 1970's I purchased a Teac A108 tape cassette machine. It allowed the right track to be recorded and then played back while you added the left track. then you could play and mix them back while adding another track and recording to a second machine. Apparently, you...

Musical Beggar: July 2014
http://musicalbeggar.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
A Musical Journey to Publication. Monday, 28 July 2014. I found a cassette tape the other day dated 1982. It was a recording of various covers from James Taylor, Supertramp and John Martyn along with a couple of instrumental originals. It was recorded on a standard stereo cassette recorder using 4 cheap microphones through an equally cheap mixer. Why do I mention this? Tuesday, 15 July 2014. Can you have too many guitars? Should you pay thousands for a guitar? What's in a make/model? I have always bought...

Musical Beggar: September 2014
http://musicalbeggar.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
A Musical Journey to Publication. Tuesday, 23 September 2014. We have finally moved. It is a downsize to a much smaller house. It was a fairly traumatic move, with all the family helping move a 6 bed (18 room) house into three storage containers, because our removal company couldn't do the day when our buyers changed it! Still we are in and we are down to the contents of about 3/4 of a container left to find a home for. But at the moment I am deciding on what to take to this years song writing course!

Musical Beggar: June 2014
http://musicalbeggar.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
A Musical Journey to Publication. Wednesday, 25 June 2014. I have always recorded on a budget, and this time is no exception. My wife bought me a laptop a couple of years ago, and since then I have been updating my old programs. I purchased Sibelius for writing music and this has been fantastic for getting musical ideas down, so they can be kept or played by others. Many years ago I purchased a pair of matched condenser microphones and a good vocal condenser. Getting my head around DAW software. I know i...

http://musicalbeggar.blogspot.com/2014/11/playing-with-raw-recording-files.html
A Musical Journey to Publication. Wednesday, 26 November 2014. Playing with the Raw recording files. Running through a new song in the garden, with Donna and Carolyn. Laying down a guitar part in the make-shift studio in the Barn at Totleigh Barton. It was great fun watch a new song develop over a couple of days. Even more so, when you heard the songs others had been working on. This is the path down to the river at Totleigh Barton. It was taken early in the morning. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
