Democracy for Scotland: November 2014
http://yesforscotland.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 25 November 2014. Glasgow's Turing Institute, closed by the UK Government. New movie The Imitation Games on the war codebreakers, shows that they were linked to 'Glasgow's Turing Institute' and to their equipment that guided all the space shuttles and the invention of the Internet here in Glasgow! The jewel in the crown of the Turing Institute was its work on Nasa's space shuttle, the landing system for which, Mowforth says, was "built in Scotland from girders". He adds: "As far as I know th...

Democracy for Scotland: May 2015

Thursday, 14 May 2015. Labour, What now? Will they recover in Scotland from 'In bed with the Tories'. Miliband played into the Tories political manoeuvres game by refusing to work with Nicola. He simply looked weak. He should have risen above it and said he was a man of principle and therefore he would work with all those who were for a fairer society. He let Cameron lead the conversation. Labour simply shift money from one place to another. Offering equality of opportunity - which Labour denied many by ...

Democracy for Scotland: Labour in disarray?
http://yesforscotland.blogspot.com/2015/07/labour-in-disarray.html
Wednesday, 22 July 2015. They are a broad church (apparently) and leaderless - and this trying to follow the Conservative arguments will NOT work! The UK needs a party of opposition! I don't believe in reckless or wasteful spending by government - and I believe in measures that grow the economy. The Conservatives though have built a false economic growth not based on anything real (like manufacturing) but on boosting London house prices. Labour have totally lost the arguments and the plot! And to search ...

Democracy for Scotland: January 2015
http://yesforscotland.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, 8 January 2015. Conservatives now saying a NO vote was a 'protection' against OIL prices dropping - what a blooming cheek! And Labour's Murphy calling for a late in the day "resilience fund" to deal with the volatile oil price - normally under a different name! IF in our dreams Tory or Labour Governments at Westminster had started an. Yes it means lower patrol costs - but it also means less tax money and less spending. From SNP last May -. Democracy for Scotland: August 2014
http://yesforscotland.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, 28 August 2014. At EIBF we photographers were asked on several occasions by authors what the outcome of the Scottish independence Referendum vote in September will be. One photographer replied 'maybe' which I thought was a good answer! The shelves were full of books on the Scottish Independence Referendum questions. There could be shades of grey here and the questions over what type of union might be in both Scotland, England and the rUKs best interests? The union has always been so centralized.

Sunday, 19 May 2013. The British NHS needs De-Centralized. The British NHS is in desperate need of being De-Centralized and Reformed. It is the System itself that is failing. We urgently need to take a look at health care systems worldwide that do work for patient care and work with no waiting lists. How on earth can they achieve this? That's not to say that there are not pockets of top quality care in the service. I know several who have received excellent treatment for serious illness. The reality is t...

Musicfootnotes Life Blogs: March 2015
http://musicfootnoteslifeblogs.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, 5 March 2015. On the Channel Four's recent program, ‘Junk Food Kids: Whose to Blame? They showed four year old overweight children with rotten teeth, having to get full mouth teeth extractions due to decay and ulcers. It’s totally shocking as all this is easily preventable. Http:/ www.channel4.com/programmes/junk-food-kids-whos-to-blame/on-demand/57487-001. On the program one young mother complained it is always easier to say 'yes' to her young children's demands! Children reach an age (about t...

Musicfootnotes Life Blogs: February 2014

Thursday, 27 February 2014. Backing Research and Infrastructure. It's no wonder our streets in Scotland are full of pot holes - which are highly dangerous for both cyclists and car drivers! According to the Sunday Times our devolved Scottish Parliament is only responsible for 15% of its budget! This surprised me. The latest is that Labour, Lib Dems and Tories may 'allow' MSPs a 50% responsibility of the parliament's 35Bm budget and allow MSPs to decide on rates and income tax. Its so predictable - now th...
