I gently bring my right arm to meet my left, forming a beautiful arc, a continuation of the shape. Fingertips alive, they point towards one another as if to say,. My mentor, Spence Ford. The lights are up and I’m laying in the center of the stage, and the whole cast is looking down at me….my director, the stage manager, my dancers’ heads forming a circle of concern as I gaze up and try to make sense of how I got here. And then I feel it….my ankle, throbbing, and pulsing. Nikol, are you ok? Little Shop of Horrors.

Thoracic Time – ZenRedNYC. Your Audience Wants What You Have. Events & Workshops. August 7, 2015. Ice, heating pad, yoga mat. I breathe in, slowly bringing my knee to my chest, exhaling on the count as I hold. One, two, three, four, five. I look up at my ceiling and slowly cross my knee to the opposing shoulder, feeling the cushion of my mat beneath, and placing my energy on my breath. Both knees into my chest, and exhale, before repeating again the sequence from the beginning. I was scared, and confused.
