We make ourselves go to bed after prying ourselves away from the TV, internet, etc. We make ourselves eat healthy even when we really just want a brownie. A Glimpse Into Our Lives/Hearts. Wednesday, August 26, 2009. Michael drove all night bringing the two new alpacas home on August 9-10. The morning of August 10th we (the boys and I) headed out to Greenville zoo for most of the day. We left at about 6:30 and arrived at about 8:00am. The boys were THRILLED that we had the park to ourselves for about an hour and a half. But THEY love it. :). Gideon giving biggest brother a ride. He's really into climbing things. He's a boy. Thomas got going really high here.

Thursday, August 13, 2009. Our hens were about this same size when we got them 20 weeks ago. One second after this photo was taken, the egg LEAPED out of Nolan's hands and splattered onto my bedroom floor. Even though the egg is small, it had a nice big yolk inside. As far as I know, the hens aren't supposed to be laying for two more weeks, so a tiny egg is a big deal at this point. I found this tiny gem out by my clothesline. She thinks Papa exists just for her. They had a great time at the grandparents' church. Papa and Grandma set up and serve donuts and coffee between services and let all the kids help them. Tuesday, June 23, 2009. It's a sentence that totally fits her personality. She's always on the move and ready to go anywhere at any time. As soon as she walks out the door, she says "Let's go! And heads straight for the blackberry bushes. She grabs the branches and pulls off the berries shoving them in her mouth before I can even get to her. She's completely unphased. By the thorns. I don't know how she grabs a branch without crying in pain, but her love for the blackberries is more important.

I may have been way deep into what I was listening to in my Aiwa: Cocteau Twins, Colourfield, whatever or Squeeze likely, but honestly I was too apathetic and morose that year for even them. We had a meal, it was raining and gross out so I expected the theater to be much warmer for all the seats being full. Not the case, not sold out.
