http://acookslookbook.blogspot.com/2010/05/brb-manila.html
May 27, 2010. Really sorry for neglecting this blog for quite some time now! I promise to update more often, seriously. I'm currently in Chicago and won't be back in Manila til the end of October. I haven't mentioned it in this blog at all but for the past few months, I have been fixing my paperwork to do an internship in America. I can finally announce that I did get everything done and I will be interning at Moto Restaurant here in Chicago from June to October! Last week, I was in Bar Harbor, Maine....

A Cook's Lookbook: Something Blue
http://acookslookbook.blogspot.com/2009/11/something-blue.html
Nov 23, 2009. More than a month ago, as part of banquet class, I had to come up with some dish ideas for a menu. The theme of the group I was in was funky and unique. I knew I wanted to come up with something colorful and unconventional for one of the dishes! Long story short, I ended up using Blueberry Vodka Cruiser as an ingredient! Yes, that blue fizzy entry-level alcoholic drink we all loved in high school. I’m really fond of its bright blue color and sweet blueberry taste! Oh look, a video! For the ...

A Cook's Lookbook: MegaBites
http://acookslookbook.blogspot.com/2010/03/megabites.html
Mar 1, 2010. Haven't updated this blog in such a long time. Been busy with school and things so I haven't found the time. I promise to update as much as I can though. I don't want the blog to just fizzle out. So yeah, I shall post more often! About a month ago, I celebrated my 22nd birthday with some friends. Had them over my house for a small party with after dinner drinks and food. I made some fried cream dory fillets with a squash puree. On the left I made some maki which I. View my complete profile.

A Cook's Lookbook: March 2010
http://acookslookbook.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Mar 19, 2010. My grandmother came from the wet market this afternoon and bought some seaweed and oysters. Perks of living on an archipelago. I love this seaweed thing! The little blobs burst with saltiness in your mouth. I dip it in some vinegar before eating. Didn't feel like eating this raw so I decided to bake it. Baked it with some olive oil, butter, white wine, garlic, onions, chives, cheese, and japanese breadcrumbs. Mar 8, 2010. It was kinda nostalgic to be honest! The coolest table that night.

A Cook's Lookbook: November 2009
http://acookslookbook.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Nov 30, 2009. It's almost Christmas, a season where people magically become nicer and bellies grow bigger! Will need to come up with new ideas for Christmas dinners. In the spirit of the season I decided to make macarons yesterday. I wanted it to be green and red so I filled the macarons with a quick strawberry raspberry jam I made. (Needs to be a little more green). Nov 23, 2009. Long story short, I ended up using Blueberry Vodka Cruiser as an ingredient! The batter had that distinct sweet taste without...

A Cook's Lookbook: June 2010
http://acookslookbook.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Jun 2, 2010. While in Maine, I had a nice dinner in a quaint fine dining place with my brother and mom called Red Sky which serves new American cuisine. Smoked Duck. Wish there was more of this! The slices were thin. The smoked flavor was subtle; just enough to mellow out the gaminess of the duck. This is their house made duck and pork sausage. It was a little dry for me but it was full of flavor. It tasted great with the condiments. My favorite is the cranberry/pear relish. Click here to continue reading.

A Cook's Lookbook: Maine Event
http://acookslookbook.blogspot.com/2010/06/maine-event.html
Jun 2, 2010. After 30 hours of traveling (Manila-Nagoya-Detroit-New York-Maine), I arrived in Bar Harbor, Maine 2 weeks ago. I stayed there for a few days to visit my brother. It's a great place to relax. Of course, I had to try the food! It was still summer in Manila so I had to get used to the cold right away. Lots of greenery and it's pretty quiet. Went. Walking on a not so steep trail and. Stepped on some big rocks. Had my own boiled whole lobster at The Chart Room. It was perfect!
