Musing About Ministry: May 2009

Monday, May 4, 2009. Great Commission Resurgence Fever? I must confess I have yet to catch the Great Commission Resurgence fever. In fact, I am a little confused by first document and second by its attending hoopla. Now, to many that may simply reveal my limited passions and intellect. It may also reveal that I am not part of the “official” SBC blogosphere. I now return you to your regularly scheduled pep rallies for the Great Commission Resurgence…. Friday, May 1, 2009. Musing About Ministry: Thoughts on Acts 14

http://www.musingaboutministry.blogspot.com/2010/12/thoughts-on-acts-14.html

Thursday, December 16, 2010. Thoughts on Acts 14. One of the primary things that comes to mind in this chapter is the old Kenny Rogers song about "knowing when to hold, knowing when to fold, knowing when to walk away and when to run". In the face of constant persecution we see Paul and Barnabas dig in their heels (vv. 2-3), hit the road (v. 6), walk back into town after being presumed dead (v. 20a), move on (v. 20b) and double back to all places that had been so tough (v. 21). 3 Popularity whiplash. ...

Friday, February 27, 2009. John Stott Musing About Ministry. A few more words from The Living Church by John Stott. Discussing Acts 20:28 Stott addresses ministry to the sometimes more difficult people we encounter, in his words the unlovable. God the Father loves you. Christ died for you. The Holy Spirit has appointed me your pastor. As the three persons of the Trinity are committed to your welfare, it is a privilege for me to serve you.". The Living Church by John Stott. Friday, November 28, 2008. The Essence of Ministry. As Paul, along with Silas and Timothy, opens his letter to the Thessalonian church he addresses the minister's call at its simplest and most profound point. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake. And you became imitators of us and of the Lord." (1 Thessalonians 1:5b-6a). It means our public ministry is born in our private faith. Wednesday, November 26, 2008. 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3 (ESV). May it be so in your ministry. He gave ...

Out My Back Door. I'm a pastor's wife and homeschooling mother. God has called us to a church in Louisiana. Since moving here, so many things are new and different. This will be the place to share those discoveries with you. It's my Louisiana view! Wednesday, April 29, 2009. At the stop sign out in the middle of the fields I could hear the buzz of the little engine. It was a unique sound I'm not used to hearing. So I looked up. He taught them many things by parables, and in his teaching said: "Listen!

What’s up with the May’s | What's up with that?

https://jodymay.wordpress.com/2008/11/09/whats-up-with-the-mays

What’s up with that? What’s up with the May’s. Just wanted to update family and friends on what’s going on with the fam. and house. Be in prayer for us because we are hoping we can use the existing well instead of having to drill a new one. We should hopefully find out this week. They should start putting the siding on this week and finish up the outside. As for the family we had a great Halloween. We hung out with some neighbors, one of which is George Wright who is the Lead Pastor at Cedar Crest Church.

THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF COACHING. July 11, 2014. Spiritual coaching is about being present, being light, clearing a space inside of you for your client, giving energy, and listening. It is about allowing the force to be with you, or trusting your intuition, or trusting your instincts, or trusting the angels, or giving up control with absolute certainty and trust that your good intent will guide you. The person who is a ‘To Me’ is a victim, things happen ‘to’ them and they have no choice or responsibility&#...
