Don’t Typecast Your Kids | A Blog of my Musings and Ramblings
http://musingsandramblings.com/2013/12/05/dont-typecast-your-kids
A Blog of my Musings and Ramblings. Where I say it how I see it. Don’t Typecast Your Kids. December 5, 2013. This is not to bash my family. I don’t think it was meant to be hurtful. I think parents are guilty of being adults and forgetting what it’s like to dream. I did not dream of growing up to be a court reporter. It was my realistic job. It’s a cool job, but it was my “plan B.”. Because you’re their parent. They trust you. You must be right. I’m a Hockey Mom. There is life after Facebook →. You are c...

A Blog of my Musings and Ramblings. Where I say it how I see it. The Life and Times of a Food Addict. July 22, 2013. It’s a tough life for one who is addicted to food. It is not like alcohol or illicit drugs. You cannot quit eating, if you value your life. You are forced to co-exist with your addiction. Like I said, it’s a tough life for one who is addicted to food. Now, let me say this: I am a foodie. I love food. What food addict doesn’t, right? Of course we do. Now, if this program I found works so gr...

A Blog of my Musings and Ramblings. Where I say it how I see it. I’m a Hockey Mom. September 7, 2013. September 7, 2013. I’m a mom. I’m a working mom. I’ve been a baseball mom. I’m now a football mom. But I’ve long been, and always will be, just like a Marine, a hockey mom. The night before his first session, as I tucked him into bed, he dreamily said, “I can’t believe I’m a hockey player! He was timid at first. This was all new to him. All this equipment and hitting a round heavy thing with a st...8221;...

A Blog of my Musings and Ramblings. Where I say it how I see it. Everything I want is just on the other side of fear. February 12, 2015. I am driven and sometimes simultaneously stunted by fear. I like to live inside my little comfort zone. I am afraid of trying new things because I fear failure. Don’t we all? But if my inner voice insists that I can’t do something, my rational side who is also a fierce competitor takes over and it’s game on. 8221; when appropriate. I will be expected to try. Est September 16, 2000. Wednesday, July 30, 2014. We'll figure out where it is we're going next, where we want to be, what we want to do. Life is a bit hectic right now and the future's unknown. But we're blessed and have many, many options to choose from. Not too worried about things. Monday, July 14, 2014. July has been mostly spent in Idaho, taking care of our dear mother/grandmother Rosemary, trapping beavers with our Uncle Marty, and basically enjoying a little time away in Rexburg. Cape Town, Day 2.

Est September 16, 2000. Tuesday, April 22, 2014. She said it with such conviction and force that it made me laugh to hear her say it. She's a true sweetheart. I love her very much and admire her deeply for her faithfulness to the Gospel and to her family. Tuesday, April 8, 2014. Well, my mega-superstar cousin is on the RS General Board so she was kind enough to invite us to the luncheon between sessions on Saturday. It was marvelous. I can't even . Est September 16, 2000. Tuesday, May 27, 2014. I take a lot of pictures with my phone and some of them are blog-worthy. Jason brought me flowers for Mother's Day and I did a cheesy shot. I was lying on Christie's bed one day, playing and reading books with her. She grabbed her bunny and I said, "Love your bunny! There was a 6th grade band concert - Jacob plays the trumpet! Beautiful sunset.. Sweet Christie in her morning pajamas.. Tuesday, May 13, 2014. Mother's Day - Idaho. The kids always have a blas...

Est September 16, 2000. Monday, January 27, 2014. Last Week and Weekend. It's Monday morning. Time to report on all that happened last week and weekend. It was kind of a lot, which is weird, because seriously our lives are sooooo boring. Christiana has the cutest little friends in this ward. This is just one of them. She's a doll. All the Cub Scouts with their cars and awards. Christie got a haircut and a new pink ball. Happiness! This is a picture Christie took of me. Then Jana and I had a girls night&#...

Est September 16, 2000. Sunday, September 28, 2014. All of these pictures are from my phone but I want them for my family journal, too! Christie is learning how to steal my phone and tap all the buttons on it. She took a picture of her feet the other day and I love it. We live right near a real farm with donkeys, geese, cows, and barns. It's very fun for the kids to feed the donkeys and pet them. Fall pictures. Can't resist. I think it is so adorable how Christie writes her name on her lunch. We are movi...

Est September 16, 2000. Monday, July 6, 2015. June and Some July . Mixed In With a Little May and Even Some April. These shots were taken in Kolob Canyon which is near Cedar City, Utah. Stunning, magical, and immensely beautiful. Quite extraordinary! It's always a party with my parents around - Grandma Joan and Grandpa Jim always show us a good time. And, of course, the St. George Temple is definitely one of my faves. In Salt Lake City, for the wedding. Salt Lake Temple - be still my soul! Last but not l...

Est September 16, 2000. Thursday, December 12, 2013. This picture was taken about a month after Jacob was born. My first baby. I was 25 and it really feels like a long time ago. We were living in El Paso. Jason was in the Army working as a pathologist. We'd been married only a year and four months. I had had a baby! I didn't know what I was doing. I was happy and scared and nervous and in love and worried and overjoyed all the same. And why must he grow up at all? Saturday, December 7, 2013. Christie and...

Est September 16, 2000. Friday, February 21, 2014. A lot of fun things have been happening. We celebrated Valentine's Day by making 24 cupcakes, two batches of fudge, and chocolate-covered strawberries. I was feeling very domestic for some reason. Jimmy earned his Wolf badge and now he's on to Bear. Always a happy kid. Today was our school's science fair. Jacob entered and won! It was a great surprise. We are so happy for him and for us - all of us worked hard for this moment! Sunday, February 2, 2014.

Est September 16, 2000. Tuesday, May 12, 2015. After one of Christie's soccer practices, which are held here at our home, I brought out a pink table with pink cups and pink plates and pink balloons and had all the girls on the team celebrate Christie's pink birthday. We had pink cupcakes and pink ice cream for a treat. All the girls sang to Christie and then had their treat. Easy, fast, quick, sweaty, fun birthday party! The purpose of the trip was to celebrate Jason's mother, Rosemary's 90th birthday!

Thursday, February 10, 2011. The Sands of Youth. When someone goes through painful and desperate extreme measures to look more youthful than nature intended them to be, they send out a message; What they believe they have gained in ‘looks’ is negated by the message they send out. So they work on their face, but why leave out the hands and neck which in fact divulge one’s true age? Would I ever opt for invasive surgery? Where do I stand on non- invasive procedures? I shudder to think. In fact I don’...
Musings Of a Nature Addict
Musings Of a Nature Addict. Random musings and penned thought of a nature addict. Come explore this world of ethereal beauty with me and Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. Thursday, May 8, 2014. The heady scent of blossoms filled me. And stopped me in my track. Mundane task forgotten and so is time. Following the perfume trail back. Over gushing brooks and meadows. Brambles and thorny bushes. And some creepy hollows. RAIN RAIN COME AGAIN!

Sunday, February 10, 2013. Fundraising Tip of the Week Treat every event as a Moves Management opportunity. First: Set a goal for yourself to meet at least three people at every event and find out something about them that you can use for a follow-up action. Second: Engage these three people per event in conversation and ask them a series of simple questions, such as: 1) What's your name and what Faculty did you attend? 3) Do you have relatives attending the university now? Pieces of my Mind. For my own peace of mind. Tuesday, January 6, 2015. When Free is Too High a Price. This morning was cold in front of 700 E. Hebron St. as we spoke for those who could not speak for themselves. No babies saved that we know of, but God's Word will not return void! That doesn't make sense." Musings and Ramblings of a Weird Girl
Musings and Ramblings of a Weird Girl. Friday, 6 September 2013. I think I'm losing my marbles. Or I've already lost them. Or perhaps, they were never here at all. You see, I have just emerged from final-exam hell for the "Yellow" module of my program. And this coincided with a whole lot of other stuff going on in this little life of mine. And I haven't been sleeping well. Not to mention that this temple of a body of mine has been treated as slightly more along the lines of a dumpster. Envy I kid you not...

Musings And Random Thoughts. The rants and woes of a petulant teenager. Thoughts on Fashion From A Not-So-Fashion Guru. January 7, 2014 by mutantandproud96. Why do we separate ourselves into different categories and discriminate against each other? There’s more than one type of beauty. As long as you love what you’re wearing, walk with your head held high and eyes shining with confidence, you’ll look amazing. Bottom line: do what makes you happy. And on that note, adios!
