Race Recap: First Marathon. Training (if you’re not interested, skip to the actual race part):. So we started and were off with a run around the block (people were out in their yards cheering and I was laughing because they were yelling ”you can do it! Anyways, we got back on the towpath and I kind of just zoned out until we emerged into the next spectator area around mile 17. I saw Barb jumping up and down with her sign whoop, whoop! Haha, but for my first marathon I was quite happy with how I did.
