Molly's Musings: September 2015
http://musingsbymollye.blogspot.com/2015_09_01_archive.html
More than running (but not much more). Thursday, September 24, 2015. My New Favorite Race. Kudos to that woman wearing a tutu. It's always an adventure to run a race that is brand new, or that isn't new but has been rerouted to a new course. Such was the case with the Rochester Half Marathon. And the breweries there, straight across the river and into the chute for the finish. No turns, as in past years, just a mad dash to cross that line. Crowd support seemed heartier and more populous than in years pas...
Molly's Musings: September 2013
http://musingsbymollye.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
More than running (but not much more). Wednesday, September 4, 2013. Big George Was Too Big. Never having been to Lake George, I had no idea what to expect. We rolled into town on Saturday, Aug. 31, and immediately it felt a bit touristy for my taste. Even worse, coffee was not available in town on Sunday until after the race started at 7 am (you'd think merchants would figure this stuff out). Still, the area around the Lake George Triathlon Festival. I had wanted to swim the 1.2 miles in 40-45 minut...
Molly's Musings: Chicago Marathon: Urban Legend
http://musingsbymollye.blogspot.com/2015/10/chicago-marathon-urban-legend.html
More than running (but not much more). Monday, October 19, 2015. Chicago Marathon: Urban Legend. Oct 11 delivered the spectacle that it touted. More than 46,000 of us, along 26.2 miles of the Second City, with an estimated 1.7 million spectators lining nearly every inch of Chicago sidewalk and roadway. What a sight they were. At various points in the race I saw:. A group of men dressed like the Statue of Liberty but in rainbow/pride colors. Many inventive signs urging us on to the finish line. This was m...

Molly's Musings: November 2014
http://musingsbymollye.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
More than running (but not much more). Sunday, November 16, 2014. I spent 22 weeks training for the Harrisburg Marathon. Which was Nov. 9. That's 154 days of running, foam-rolling, biking, swimming, weightlifting, yoga-ing and thinking about the fifth 26.2-miler I have taken on. That's 42% of a year, a long time! As with any big race, you learn many things about yourself and about your training- improving is a never-ending quest. If we were perfect, what would be the point? I am grateful to my Super Mast...

Karen's Adoption Journey: November 2014
http://karensadoptionjourney.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Karen's Adoption Journey: My adoption journey with T and other stuff along the way. Sunday, November 16, 2014. Tofurkey Day Race Training Strategy. When you're training for a triathlon, you don't really have the option to wait for nice weather. Plus if you train in bad weather, you're prepared to race in bad weather. Not that it will be fun, but you know you can do it. As it turned out, I had beautiful conditions for both races. Tri #1: So sunny that the guy on the bench is shading his eyes. Our Adoption...

Musings by Miss Music. Thursday, April 5, 2018. Sharmen's Hymn Rant, Pt. 1. No, this is the local "worship center." This is the new face of "worship.". It's a "come as you are," "anything goes" sort of atmosphere. Certainly not. All music was new once. But, honestly tell me. Is it really right to throw all or most of it out? Is it really okay with you to make older folks feel uncomfortable every single Sunday so that the younger folks can be hip? Really, does it? Thursday, March 15, 2018. In Chapter 2, J...

Jack’s New Home. Photos of Kelly Frost. My Wedding to Paige 3/5/11. Drag Marks Leave Scars. August 27, 2017. When this would come up in a session, I would pull out a children’s toy. The toy had a lid with differently shaped holes. There were blocks that were in corresponding shapes. For children, the idea is to get them to put the blocks in the respective corresponding holes. I, however, had a different purpose in mind. I considered directing my anger at the block but why? My heart is too full to carry h...

Friday, July 31, 2009. Well, like everyone else, I've decided to begin blogging. I can say with a certainty that I probably will not be blogging every day. I have had this blog for a long time, just sitting here a blank slate waiting for me to make my marks upon it. I have not known how to begin it. I think perhaps I just was not ready to begin it. I am ready now. Boy was I naive! Wow, that stings. Gee. I refuse to beat a dead horse. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

More than running (but not much more). Monday, November 2, 2015. Liverpool Library Holds Trip Down Memory Lane. Abandoned Oswego Canal, June 22, 1932. Liverpool will forever be linked with Syracuse, not only as a major suburb, but also as another center of the salt industry and the canals that connected both to the outside world. Around Liverpool. What's inside the book and even more information that couldn't fit are the subject of Around Liverpool. A wagon load of woven willow baskets, Nov. 15, 1926.
Musings by Mommy
Just some ramblings by a mother of two great kids and wife to one wonderful man. Don't really have a specific topic just wanted a place to muse. Wednesday, September 03, 2014. Update on my son. I have a had a crazy and wonderful summer. We were uber busy but it was fun and fulfilling. The biggest thing that happened was that my son graduated from Infantry school. I'm so proud of him. Here is his dad putting his infantry cord on him. It was so hot out there! They are both just beaming. Links to this post.

Musings . . .
Musings . . . Friday, October 28, 2011. Long, long overdue. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10. Friday, August 6, 2010. This week I decided to forego attending a business trip with my beloved husband and, instead, indulge myself with some time to relax, regroup, restore. It was a wonderful choice because of the time I spent with my nearest and dearest friends. Monday, August 2, 2010. Truly . . .time passes so quickly. Friday, July 30, 2010. The questions...

Just in case. If I say something stupid in the future, it’s better to be able to point out that the stupidity is mine, and mine alone. My stupidity! You can’t have it! All are free to read here, but if you know me personally you have no right to hold any of this against me. Tuesday, May 3, 2011. I'll try to do my best impression of a blogger. Sunday, April 24, 2011. Thursday, March 31, 2011. What the writing process looks like. Thank you Boing Boing. Tuesday, March 15, 2011. Thursday, February 3, 2011.
