Bytes from the 'Burbs: Road Trippin Part Two

http://musingsfromtheburbs.blogspot.com/2015/07/road-trippin-part-two.html

Bytes from the 'Burbs. Rants, Raves and Assorted Absurdities. Friday, July 31, 2015. Road Trippin Part Two. You can't help but be impressed as you pull into the long driveway leading up to the monument. There were a number of joggers running up and down the steps and folks enjoying lunch on the grounds. Signs were posted on the hills prohibiting sledding! Not a problem the day we were there. Inside the monument. I'm always struck by the quiet. It's otherworldly. A full day of fun! Bytes from the 'Burbs. Rants, Raves and Assorted Absurdities. Friday, February 20, 2015. Here are some items that make me laugh out loud. Some actually had me crying from laughing, but I'm the first one to admit, I have a rather odd sense of humor. Enjoy and you are welcome! Have a great weekend, everyone. CVS: No more cigarettes. All healthy now! Found this in the comment section under an article about Jay Z and Beyoncé attending LeBron's first game back in Cleveland. Me, by February 1st each year.

Bytes from the 'Burbs: Dad's Day

http://musingsfromtheburbs.blogspot.com/2015/06/dads-day.html

Bytes from the 'Burbs. Rants, Raves and Assorted Absurdities. Tuesday, June 16, 2015. Does anyone remember a book and television show a few years back called 'Sh*t My Dad Says'? I think most people could relate to it, because whose Dad didn't say weird stuff? For that matter, whose Mom didn't say crazy things? I believe it was my own mother who coined the phrase, 'apple ass,' referring to one of her who own offspring whom she thought was doing something stupid. Usually, my brother. HA! What did your Dad ...

January 14, 2014. Last week i took the online jeopardy test and failed with failing colors. i heard the announcement on tv that adults could begin registering for the online test and had been thinking about it. not a day later i received an email from a friend. That’s exactly how i felt. i know i didn’t know the answer so either i had to let the time expire or press the skip button. i had to make a decision and quickly, but which choice was the lesser of two evils? The test went downhill after the first ...

Worried Dad: Sour candy will kill your kid's teeth

http://reallyworried.blogspot.com/2010/10/sour-candy-will-kill-your-kids-teeth.html

It takes a worried dad to make a worried blog. Saturday, October 23, 2010. Sour candy will kill your kid's teeth. Contrary to conventional wisdom, it turns out that candy is actually bad for your teeth, especially if it tastes good. Studies by people in white coats. The effects are particularly bad for baby teeth. And adult teeth until they have been around for at least 10 years (you know, basically when you lose any desire to eat them). The good folks at the California Dental Hygienists Association.

Turns out she might be right. Back in March, the Environmental Working Group. Now, killer celery has claimed multiple victims in Texas: the count so far is 4 dead and two more sick. But the numbers are sure to rise. The culprit this time is listeriosis. A nasty little bacterium. October 23, 2010 at 8:54 AM. What, me worry?

It takes a worried dad to make a worried blog. Tuesday, October 26, 2010. Toxic Face Paint No Fun For Kids. Back in the day when Worried Dad was just Worried Kid, the biggest Halloween scare was the biggest thing we were afraid of was someone sticking a razor blade in an apple. Even though Snopes.com says there was some bits of truth behind these rumors, what kid in their right mind would eat an apple. Now the all-knowing Yahoo newsdesk has reminded us of a more modern worry: toxic face paint. E) Except ...

Sorry for being me, I don't know how to be anyone else" - Spike Milligan. Tuesday, 19 May 2015. The confusion over Cate Blanchett's "relation-ships" is a reminder that platonic friendships can be just as intense and rewarding as sexual couplings, even though the latter are usually seen as the real deal. Journalist Daisy Buchanan writes. I'm not sure men could say the same about male friendships though. From what I know, they seldom have that intensity and richness. I've certainly never had a male...As fo...

Running In the Yard. La-la, how the life goes on. . . Friday, August 21, 2009. The Summer of Growing-Up II; or, Paint It Black. In my previous post. Growing up Up North, I really did have a fairly 'sheltered' upbringing. Life was pleasant, and for me at least, pretty easy, adoptions. The Cross and the Switchblade.
