Musings From The Mild Side

Wednesday, July 1, 2009. Try Not To Be Too Jealous. I know it's going to be tempting to be incredibly envious as you read this blog post, but please remember that not everyone gets this fabulous opportunity. You can choose from lemon-lime, orange or cola flavored. Mind you, it's not carbonated or even cold, but you have to drink it. I also have to say here that the idea of flat, warm, cola-flavored liquid seriously sends a shiver up my spine. Ick! No such luck. Two days later I get a call from my doc...

Musings From The Mild Side: We're Doomed

http://www.musingsfromthemildside.blogspot.com/2008/06/were-doomed_25.html

Wednesday, June 25, 2008. What do you do when a three year old is already figuring out your parenting tricks? This is an actual conversation Brendan and I had in the store the other day. Brendan: Mommy, look at that. Brendan: Mommy, I have to tell you something important that I hate. Brendan: I hate it when you say "mmmhmm" when I am talking at you. That means you are not listening to me. Eric and I are doomed. Doomed. Yep, doomed you are my friend! June 25, 2008 at 4:17 PM. June 25, 2008 at 4:21 PM.

Musings From The Mild Side: Step Away From the Pink Dress With Kittens On It!

http://www.musingsfromthemildside.blogspot.com/2009/03/step-away-from-pink-dress-with-kittens.html

Wednesday, March 25, 2009. Step Away From the Pink Dress With Kittens On It! So, those of you who have known me for any length of time know that I'm not really keen on finding out the genders of babies before they're born. I love the surprise of it, and I love the suspense and guessing that comes with not knowing. However.at 15 weeks I had an ultrasound today and the technician said she could tell us the genders of the babies. Something took over and I HAD. People were surprised that we found out the bab...

Musings From The Mild Side: An Interesting Development...

http://www.musingsfromthemildside.blogspot.com/2009/01/interesting-development.html

Thursday, January 15, 2009. Do not attempt to adjust your monitor. Your eyes do not deceive you. That is an ultrasound photo off to the left of your screen. Yes, it's mine. Look more carefully.Yes, there are two babies in there! We were thrilled to find out we were expecting again after suffering a miscarriage in September. I was anticipating seeing a healthy baby on my ultrasound after all of that. The minute she turned the screen on, I immediately saw TWO! This is what we know:. 1 There are two babies.

Wednesday, May 14, 2008. First Trip To The Dentist. I'm sure some of you are laughing just reading this. You KNOW my thoughts on the dentist. I think anyone who wants to do that for a living definitely has something wrong upstairs. Of course, if you're my dentist, I'm paying for you to have a nice vacation home and all the $4/gallon gasoline you could want, so it's all good. Labels: Build A Bear. The Kid is 3! Journeys of Here and There: The Blizzard of 2010

http://thehepfers.blogspot.com/2010/02/blizzard-of-2010.html

Wednesday, February 10, 2010. The Blizzard of 2010. The view down the street. The tree across the street that looks so cool with the way the snow is laying on it. Looking out our front door. The view of our back yard and driveway from Drey's bedroom window upstairs. The killer icicles hanging outside of Drey's bedroom window on the front of the house. More icicles looking out Drey's bedroom window toward Ty and I's bedroom windows. I hope you are enjoying it! February 11, 2010 at 2:53 PM. The Dean is in.

Journeys of Here and There: January 2009

http://thehepfers.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 30, 2009. While we have our very own personal Pittsburgh Steelers cheerleaders living with us (and yes, we had them wear their outfits to church on Sundays) I'm sure there will be more pictures to follow with Sunday's game coming up. Friday, January 23, 2009. Just had this conversation with Rylee. Rylee: Hey, Mom, my booger's not green, it's purple. Rylee: My booger's not green, it's purple. Me: You picked a purple booger out of your nose? Me: Where's it at now? Rylee: In my mouth. As of ...

Journeys of Here and There: July 2009

http://thehepfers.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Monday, July 27, 2009. I have to say that Nigel is settling down and fitting in rather nicely with his family. His first night here he slept soundly in his kennel for about 7 hours. I woke up the following morning at around 7:30am and hopped out of bed quick because all was quiet in our house and I was afraid the puppy needed to pee. Nigel is a big baby. He loves to be held, he prefers being held while he sleeps as you can see from the following pictures. Sunday, July 26, 2009. Getting acquainted with hi...

Thursday, October 30, 2008. Are We There Yet? There are only four days left, people. Four days. Then you can vote. Then you can sit and complain if the candidate of your choice doesn't get in or yell a proud "Hoorah! At the opposing side if he does. But please leave me out of it. The world will not come to an end if Obama becomes President. Of course it will some day but I highly doubt he would be the cause of it because he's placed in office. Do I like the man? Am I even worth listening to anymore?

Friday, November 27, 2009. In Honor Of Tanner. I know most of you don't know my brother, and if I had pictures of his dog I would probably blog about it but I don't think it's my place to anyhow. Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Most of you know, but for those of you who don't, we finally settled and closed on the house! And doesn't my husband look like the cheesiest person alive working the lock on the front door? I tell you what, after what we have been through with the closing part of the house, I am so thankful that the Lord has blessed me with a man who was willing to sacrifice anything, including his life to work in Iraq, for this day to happen. Saturday, November 22, 2008. The picture was taken as soon as we got there. What I forgot to do was take one when we left 90 minutes later when all our cheeks were bright red, our eyes were watering, noses were running, bodies were shivering, lips quivering and Rylee was crying her eyes out and screaming her head off. I'm not exactly sure my fingers would've known how to function anyhow at that point. Friday, November 21, 2008. Food For Thought On A Friday. You're a Christian, aren't you, son? The studen...

Tuesday, April 28, 2009. A Face That Everybody Loves. The moment you've all been waiting for. our dear little Maddie. I was supposed to pick her up this morning, but because she was urinating a lot of blood and still running a fever, the vet's office kept her until this afternoon. It seems they found four bladder stones, not three, and a lesion on the outside of her bladder that they cut off and we asked them to send it off to have a biopsy done to make sure it's not cancer. What did they do to you?

Journeys of Here and There: May 2009

http://thehepfers.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Friday, May 22, 2009. It doesn't help that we are buying a big house that will have room for animals with me being the animal lover that I am. It doesn't help that my husband is a sappy animal lover, almost worse than I am, and it doesn't help when I find something so perfect and so right for my kids. I left with the bunny. I mean seriously. How could I not? What really jerked my chain the wrong way was when the guy put a $50/obo sign on the cage and I began asking questions. Me: Is it a boy or a girl?

Just another WordPress.com site. July 19, 2012. In mid-May Jay and I traveled to India for our third trip in 15 months. We absolutely love this country! Whereas previously we had stuck to the cities, this time we headed to the backwaters of Kerala. Our best friends in Abu Dhabi, Ben and Kate, came with us. We landed in Kochi. The capital city of the state of Kerala. A lazy afternoon on the houseboat. Brunton Boatyard in Fort Kochi. This was our final trip to India before leaving the UAE. There are st...

Musings from the Middle Ground

Musings from the Middle Ground. Thursday, November 4, 2010. Is there really such a thing as informed consent? In my years as a mother, doula, and childbirth educator I have come to question if informed consent truly exists, and not only in the realm of childbirth. Every choice that we make has pros and cons, but some definitely outweigh the other. As a woman who has experienced many different types of births, I found the following post incredibly interesting. Thursday, July 29, 2010. Monday, May 31, 2010.

Musings from the Millers

Musings from the Millers. Thursday, January 1, 2015. Good-bye 2014 and Hello 2015! Every year I say I am going to get the Christmas cards out before Christmas.it doesn't happen. Then I will do a New Year's card or letter.not. Easter? Never gets done. Why oh why does it not get done? I have deducted that it is because 365 days out of the year we are living life hard - to the fullest - squeezing every ounce we can get out of it! What could I say is outstanding about 2014? Here is a glimpse of our year!

Wild Rose Musings

Sunday, May 8, 2016. And the Beat Goes On. Over the years I’ve read many, many books that have had big influences on me. Though there were one or two that were fiction ( Mists of Avalon…. But there are two books that have been total game changers. The first was Listening to Wild Dolphins. Recently Dr. Christiane Northrup’s new book, Goddesses Never Age. The one about sensuality? With one hundred strangers! That led me to the dolphin book (and yes, that led me to leave my marriage, that walked with me int...

Musings from the Moon

Musings from the Moon. My own words, thoughts and poetry; unfolding my curiosity and inspiring my artwork. Take me to the moon * . Diamond in the Rough. In a world so big and bright,. So loud and cluttered,. It’s easy to feel its whirl,. To play it’s game of tug and war. The more you push,. The more they pull. Until you’re a shell of you,. But a shining ‘them’. A 'them’ that at first glance is right. To a blind eye is stable. But underneath the shaky surface. Is a fumbled mess. A diamond covered in ego,.
