Tuesday, September 27, 2011. Why 20 kids makes sense. I should have had 20 children. I had six when I could have been a super mother to three, just because I love new babies so much. (For the record, I have never, ever, regretted having any of these children, and in my opinion, they have become pretty awesome adults.). Here are just some of the reasons why I love babies:. Babies love you to sing to them, and could care less if you can' t carry a tune or don't know the real words. Babies never talk back.

Monday, May 28, 2012. I have long been known as a "glass half empty" kind of person. I admit I tend to imagine most situations to their "worst case" end. I am sorry to say that I passed this on to at least one of my daughters so perhaps one could conclude that this is a genetic trait. Thus, may I be absolved of all responsibility for it? Thursday, April 5, 2012. For the short term we have a trip planned to Africa, a road trip to Utah and a short visit to southern California (all in May! My gypsy side is thrilled. Sometime in the spring ( it is spring until June, after all) I am planning some day trips, probably with my darling youngest daughter. Unfortunately (facetious here) she went and got a job and our outings will be governed by her work schedule. I am sure this is fodder for psychiatric discussion, but so be it.

Wednesday, May 4, 2011. My feet hung out of the window, the bottoms reflected in the side mirror. You could tell I had been walking barefoot at the rest stops. My toes were painted purple with green and blue glitter on top. The sun made them glimmer; made the polish look new. My toe ring was dusty, but the sun managed to make that look new too. We had been driving for hours fleeing the place I called Hell. My eyes were wrinkled and jaded. Maybe they could make me look new too. I watched it as I wept.
