Musings of the Bleary Eyed. Pondering a life both sleep deprived and blessed. December 22, 2013. Here I sit, basking in the glow of the Christmas tree lights on a quiet early morning. The kiddos are still abed, the Hero has left for work, and a bird is singing outside the window. It is 4 days until Christmas and as I enjoy my coffee and breathe a sigh of relief at having finished the Christmas shopping, I begin to muse…. Joy and Hope and Peace. Musings of the Bleary Eyed. Pondering a life both sleep deprived and blessed. February 13, 2013. 8211; sisters rock. Especially mine. 2 have had babies in the past month and the other completed a 5k mud run. They are awesome friends and support and they tell it like it is. We can converse in movie quotes and disagree without having a falling out. I’m telling ya, they rock. 8211; my kiddos understand the meaning of the number 24601…that’s a win. And they took action on it, before I even assigned buddies!

These are some of the most inclusive bunch of independents you'll ever meet. Most of us love to include newbies and prospectives in our lives and convince them "You can do it! But only if you want to! And it will look different than any other homeschool. Is our motto. Patience is not a prerequisite! Someone say, "Amen! Right now. Say it! Saturday, November 9, 2013. When the Pastor Says, "Greet the people around you.". I rejoiced with those who said to me,. Let us go to the House of the Lord! We've learned a few things in the past year and a half about being the newbies. Not the least of which is how to better handle the greeting time at church. When the pastor says, "Let's all take a moment to greet the people around you and tell them you are glad they are here today", I handle this much differently than I did before. I did this to peopl...

Friday, January 4, 2013. My mother and I. She took me out for an early birthday outing. I love her! Today marks my 22nd year of being here on this earth. That sure did sneak up on me fast! I've had the younger look at me in with wide eyes and state how old. I am getting, and I have had the older smile down at me and remark how I am still just a baby. I suppose then, it is all how one looks at it. Frankly, I do not feel. Isn't growing up a funny thing? How did I not change? Did I grow or did I stand still?

Musings of the big red hen. Friday, 1 November 2013. Hi ho, Hi ho. It was preparing me to take a BIG dose of medicine. I recently had a late-night, wine-fuelled conversation with a friend, in which I said some things that were really hurtful to her. I didn't say mean things, but I spewed out some nonsense that was really unsupportive of her life choices (which you can read about here. The truth about me, is that sometimes I don't, sometimes, I judge - ugly, but true. Since I'm being brutally honest here,...
