Musings on Muses: The End
http://musingsonmuses.blogspot.com/2008/06/end.html
Thoughts on writing and more. Thursday, June 12, 2008. I just wanted to share that tonight I reached those two magical words, "The End", in my modern fantasy novel,. The Farmer Takes a Life. My goal was to reach 80,000 words during the month (I actually started on 16 May); the final total came in at 81,696 words, or about 460 manuscript pages. It took me 28 days to get the first draft done. For the revision process - great for moving scenes around and organizing research. The Writer's Guide to Places,.
Musings on Muses: Status Report
http://musingsonmuses.blogspot.com/2008/08/status-report.html
Thoughts on writing and more. Tuesday, August 19, 2008. Thinking about your book? Got a new idea for it? Is it going to be a lot of work? Obviously that means I have to write the second storyline, so I'm doing that as part of the revision process. All of the continuity problems mentioned in my previous post have been resolved as well, so that's a relief. I'm really enjoying writing about Elisia and letting the reader get to know her directly rather than just through Farmer's memories of her.
Musings on Muses: Effortful Study
http://musingsonmuses.blogspot.com/2006/09/effortful-study.html
Thoughts on writing and more. Tuesday, September 05, 2006. About expertise and how experts remember things. It quotes some research that I already had in my thesis proposal, but one passage I found particularly relevant in light of the previous entry. Anders Ericsson argues that experience. Time to be away. I would never forgive myself if I missed her first steps. Ah well. Life is what happens while we're making other plans, eh? A side note, all science fiction authors should read. Musings on Muses: Professionalism
http://musingsonmuses.blogspot.com/2007/12/professionalism.html
Thoughts on writing and more. Wednesday, December 26, 2007. Recently, a writing friend of mine just had her first professional sale - a major milestone in any writer's career. She also ran across a ten-year-old essay. I wrote a little essay. About Heinlein's rules for writers in my blog a while back if you want to see that discussion. The key is his last rule:. You must keep it on the market until it is sold.". But, as Heinlein pointed out, just because you don't make your living from writing doesn't mea...
Musings on Muses: Worldcon
http://musingsonmuses.blogspot.com/2006/08/worldcon.html
Thoughts on writing and more. Thursday, August 31, 2006. Worldcon was an absolute blast, though, mostly because the friend who convinced me to come is friends with a couple who have been on both sides of the house (fan and writer) for over ten years now. Knows them. I had no idea that the real con takes place in the parties, not in the panels (although the panels were interesting and incredibly valuable). As far as I know, this couple attended none of the actual panels. Why should they? Who said my writi...

Musings on Mormonism | Where faith and reason are friends
Easily the most fascintaing and illuminating comparison of introversion and extroversion I’ve ever seen. The entirety of what follows is taken from the book. By Marti Olsen Laney. Whereas extroverts are linked with the dopamine/adrenaline, energy-spending, sympathetic nervous system, introverts are connected with the acetylcholine, energy-conserving, parasympathetic nervous system. MUSINGS ON MURDER
8220;A study in scarlet, eh? Why shouldn't we use a little art jargon? There's the scarlet thread of murder running through the colourless skein of life, and our duty is to unravel it, and isolate it, and expose every inch of it.” - Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Thoughts on writing and more. Sunday, July 05, 2015. I finally was able to recover the password for this blog! As you can see, I haven't been able to post here for a long time. I had been writing a private blog for a while, but with all the recent activity developing "E Pluribus Hugo" (our proposed new nomination system for the Hugo Awards), I had wanted to transfer some of those posts and get started back up on the blog. Posted by Keith Kilo Watt. Thursday, June 16, 2011. Breakout Novel Workbook Complete.
My Musings on Music
Music can be a form of perfection - with nothing added or subtracted, flawless just the way it is. Why is it Hard to Write? Stupid, frustrating fears. Musings On My God. Is Your Life A New Life? April 2, 2014. Living the New Life. What Happens When I judge You. March 31, 2014. What happens when you judge me? 8221; Is a phrase that is often uttered when we want to assure ourselves that the person we are judging is heinously sinning. The only acceptable way to judge another person’s actions is if it is done with a heart of love, compassion, and the desire to help someone grow in Christ. That’s it! I’ve Been Distracted. Musings On My Life – Making Sense of It One Day At a Time
Musings On My Life. Making Sense of It One Day At a Time. Two Rooms Plus Utilities. Living in the land of the forgotten, brings a huge number of problems, that most wouldn’t even ever think about. The problems really start with the fact the most don’t even think about the possibility of being housebound, far less the issues that it might cause in everyday life. Two of those problems once again came to mind the other day and I decided to once more try to find solutions for both. 1,006 more words. On It ju...

Musings on Nature (and other things)
Musings on Nature (and other things). When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world." John Muir (Misquoted). Sunday, January 20, 2013. There are many places, people and things that I love. But not too many to which I can truly attach the phrase "In love with". The other day as I was driving around work (i.e. Antelope Island State Park), that phrase struck me as the feeling I was having toward that place. Yep, I am in love with Antelope Island. To trap the young,...
