Richard's Musings
Wednesday, March 6, 2013. The Bible on TV.what do you think about that? I was pretty excited about the History Channel televising its five Sunday series the Bible. Back in January, I put the March 3rd date on my calendar. Did you see the first installment Sunday night? So, what did you think? Have you had any conversations about what you saw? Jon, Dave, Doug, and I sent numerous texts to each other during the showing Sunday. Here are a few things we "talked" about. There were two things that were said by...

A rookie writer looking for an outlet for my muse. Why bad things happen to good people. November 22, 2010 by musingstik. February 20, 2010 by musingstik. What does it take for you to have regrets? Do you have to learn a painful lesson? Does someone close to you have to hurt or be hurt before it sinks in that you could have done things differently? No one really knows until it happens to them. Like most negative aspects in life, it will blindside side you with little warning. Depression can be a relative...

I who wanted to be more conventional than anyone ever. My goal in highschool was to get married, have lots of babies and collect tupperware. I have not a single piece of tupperware. So, this year I rang in the new year in the most unplanned, unreflective way. I'm so glad I did. But last night, we immediately started talking about eve...

April 5, 2018 · 11:51 am. C has supported lambda functions since C 11, and post-C 14 even supported generic lambdas. C 17 adds a quirky feature to enable ‘copy capture’ of ‘this’. Here’s an example of it in action:. Now, C 14 also supported generalised lambda capture, which meant you could (re-)name variables when capturing (and provided a neat way to capture-by-move):. Auto f = [tmp = *this]{ return tmp.value; };. But the C 17 code is more concise. See this useful StackOverflow post. Tagged as C 17.

We are not our behaviour. Six Out Of Seven Dwarfs Are Not Happy. I hate paper work and statistics are manipulating and never, ever show the full picture or give a true reflection of what is really going on! Present them with several bits of paper and forms? Who’s bloody idea was that? How would you feel? I personally would tell him to stick it and search the internet for the required treatment! Actually it is, because after I have put the information from the forms on to the computer, a colleague whose j...
