When Zsuzsa Földes, a volunteer from Hungary, found out One Billion Rising campaign, a decision came very fast into her mind: let’s do it in Estonia! So, she started to gather efforts to put people moving in V-Day’s 15th Anniversary, on the 14th February. Volunteering as an attitude. Learning the verb to go. A poem in English was Tânia’s suggestion to elevate Christmas spirit in JUKS. One brunette crosses the corridor, again and again, with stacks of papers under her arm. No glasses, no pen on the right ear, no high hills and no homework. Far from stereotypes, in the end, the Portuguese volunteer Tânia Ferreira feels like an English teacher. Since she’s in Tallinn (for the past five months), her daily routine takes place in JUKS.
