Thursday, March 6, 2008. The first time she flattened herself on the pavement, no one was witness. The second time she was accompanied by a lover and the particular time of one am Did either matter? For a moment, in the middle of all this, she thought about Inene. And the memories wafting through the floorboards. Her sleepy-eyed vacation was louder, calling to her from the door. Pierced, then, suddenly by that sharp glance of light, the tearing of metal, the hammer.****, it was still there. To make your ...

Thursday, March 6, 2008. I have been looking for you everywhere! My old phone had your number, and i lost it years ago. I live in Williamsburg again, just down the street from "the big white box" loft. How are you? I want to see you! Are you still in the city? Call me lets grab a scotch! April 20, 2009 at 3:54 PM. Muttering Fig: The Dream

http://mutteringfig.blogspot.com/2008/02/dream.html

Friday, February 22, 2008. I watched them from my northern peninsula perch, a higher rocky ground from which I’d been determining for the better part of my dream whether or not I could drop straight into the sea….with my own kayak…and paddle in that very direction. And what of the night? The neighbors - the large fellow and his illusionary mate - seemed not to care. And once they were out of sight, I walked back down my rock to awake. Muttering Fig: Old Age (from a gentleman’s point of view)

http://mutteringfig.blogspot.com/2008/02/old-age-from-gentlemans-point-of-view.html

Friday, February 22, 2008. Old Age (from a gentleman’s point of view). When old age arrives it is. As though you’ve been cheated out of. Something you once owned. But never had any say in keeping. And I suppose that’s just what it is. Some people may age gracefully,. Slipping into a late-life coma with a half-smile and a nodding head,. Pleased (or just plain tired) with a half-century. Of accomplishments, trials and errors. But not I…. I am kicking and screaming the entire way. I curse the Gods.

Muttering Fig: Beyond Fatigue

http://mutteringfig.blogspot.com/2008/03/beyond-fatigue.html

Thursday, February 21, 2008. Fatigue has settled into something else…as it does, once it progresses. The jester awakened, that strange creature with peculiar features—jovial floating appendage, banging his head now, lashing at the subway doors, passing me on the exit stairs, rising faster than the elevator. My body, laborious, follows. Enamored and repulsed. Drawing: Michelangelo Buonarroti Il Sogno. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Old Age (from a gentleman’s point of view). Tales from the Road.

Muttering Fig: March 2007

http://mutteringfig.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 6, 2007. Photograph by Lasse Hoile. It can’t possibly be it. Can it? Were all those winter dreams and summer visions grossly incorrect? Am I here, merely, to place my one good foot in front of the other, accessory to the cog, press shoulder forward and everyone together now….turn! I depart. I give. I wrench through the closing doors. I shiver. But I don’t slow my frenzied pace toward work. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Photograph by Lasse HoileAnd here I am. It has hap. Tales from the Road.

Muttering Bitch

Monday, January 15, 2007. I think I'm suffering from memory loss, due to inactivity for 9 months in Year 2006. Suddenly, now I remembered why I did not want to go back to same company to work in the first place, cos of the frustrations that I'm feeling now. There is no room for regrets now. Just have to endure for another 2 months and hope things go smoothly during this time. Clients are always the biggest bosses. They are the paying masters. Just do and be grateful! Stray ] 3:38 PM. Year 2007 is here!

Muttering Fool

Written by Suzy Pietras-Smith since 2000. Author: Suzy Smith Category: Uncategorized. A friend of mine posted about how women are still valued for looks over their talent and skills, how homely women are expected to no embrace our looks but to follow the rules of making ourselves more like the beauty standard. I am not pretty or beautiful. My mirror isn’t busted, I can see what my reflection looks like. I am odd looking. Besides, contouring just makes your face look odd oftentimes. My clothes are not fas...

mutteringhousewife | What does the last of the housewives do?

What does the last of the housewives do? June 23, 2017. This time of the year brings forth strange fruit, by which I mean stuff that you can buy at the greengrocer, but can’t immediately eat without putting a bit of elbow grease into it. I often wonder what proportion of it ends up in tastefully arranged fruit bowls in the kitchens of people who live on Instagram? Large saucepan. Four quinces, about a kilo. A cup and a half of white sugar (brown has too strong a taste). Four to five cups of w...That&#821...

Running Toward Om

Monday, August 3, 2015. Hotel du bien etre. The Penthouse. One year. Incidentally, despite a recent spate of extremely humid {and therefore air conditioned} days, last night was open window sleeping weather and so I celebrated my one year anniversary of life in the Penthouse exactly as I had started it. With a refreshing breeze blowing my curtains as I sipped coffee, smiled, and sighed. More incidentally, last night, I was reading Anaïs Nin's Henry and June. The mother in that photo is not lacking.
