Mutterings and Meanderings: March 2008
http://mutteringsandmeanderings.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Themeless - if not seamless - observations, episodes and soapbox moments, interspersed with the occasional Paddington Bear hard stare. Monday, March 24, 2008. In our little pocket of coastal Northumberland. The snow rarely lingers. It has a tough battle against the salt air and needs to come fully equipped with reinforcements if it is to win the right to settle. It did - briefly - overnight but the roads are again wet and grass is peeping through the temporary dusting on lawns and fields. To be honest, I...
Mutterings and Meanderings: No snow
http://mutteringsandmeanderings.blogspot.com/2009/02/no-snow.html
Themeless - if not seamless - observations, episodes and soapbox moments, interspersed with the occasional Paddington Bear hard stare. Thursday, February 05, 2009. To those who have kindly asked where I am, I am pleased to report that I am not stuck, neck deep in a drift of snow. In fact, the deepest I have been this week is probably half an inch in Newcastle on Monday morning. Here on my wee stretch of the coast, we have so far been denied the white stuff that has enveloped much of the country. As the L...
Mutterings and Meanderings: January 2008

Themeless - if not seamless - observations, episodes and soapbox moments, interspersed with the occasional Paddington Bear hard stare. Saturday, January 26, 2008. If I had the Grey Mare's ability to attract the opposite sex I would not be sitting gathering dust on my spinster's shelf. Everywhere she goes, she inspires devotion. The latest horse to fall under her spell is one of my sister's thoroughbreds - the dark prince who was once entered (but didn't run) in the Derby. I think she's even more of a mum...
Mutterings and Meanderings: The mysterious mind of the Grey Mare
http://mutteringsandmeanderings.blogspot.com/2008/08/mysterious-mind-of-grey-mare.html
Themeless - if not seamless - observations, episodes and soapbox moments, interspersed with the occasional Paddington Bear hard stare. Sunday, August 17, 2008. The mysterious mind of the Grey Mare. I have always thought I had the Grey Mare pretty well sussed. We have a good relationship and a fabulous bond. I usually know what will worry her and what she will take in her stride. But sometimes she surprises me. I adore that wee horse! Good for you and the Mare! Did you see Mock The Week last week? Why do ...

Themeless - if not seamless - observations, episodes and soapbox moments, interspersed with the occasional Paddington Bear hard stare. Friday, February 29, 2008. What a carry on. I am starting to panic-hoard carrier bags. Even if I am just buying a pint of milk, yes, I'll have a bag with that, please. I feel like those shoppers who stuffed their trollies with bread during the fuel blockades. And I think we're due another one of those too). If I don't get them now, soon there will be none left. I am offic...

Monday, 10 May 2010. The merits of (charity) shopping. When I was a child and didn't have a big appetite I used to eat off a plate that looked like the above. My mum also had a few other pieces of the set. I have fond memories of the poppy plate because it reminds me of both my mum and my childhood. It was priced ...

I walk the line between indifference and, meh, whatever: March 2007
http://lifeinasecondaryschool.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
I walk the line between indifference and, meh, whatever. Friday, 30 March 2007. Well school is now officially over. The students were allowed to leave after assemblies this afternoon. And the staff all scarpered pretty quickly after that.not unusual. I had to stay to get 9 (yes 9) exclusion letters done, all for 5 days each on return from school and all pending the decision to make them permanent. Bit of a disastrous end to a brilliant term. Friday, March 30, 2007. Thursday, 29 March 2007. Wednesday, 28 ...

http://lifeinasecondaryschool.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
I walk the line between indifference and, meh, whatever. Wednesday, 21 February 2007. We've all been there. Some have fond memories, some have not so fond memories, but we've all been to school. We less able soles, who don't have a PGCE, and work in the bowls of the school, in Admin, have (in the opinion of this writer) more common sense than the teachers. Teachers do have a habit, not all I'll admit, of thinking that they are the be all and end all of the school. I hope you enjoy reading.

I walk the line between indifference and, meh, whatever: I am still alive - honest!
http://lifeinasecondaryschool.blogspot.com/2007/12/i-am-still-alive-honest.html
I walk the line between indifference and, meh, whatever. Monday, 31 December 2007. I am still alive - honest! I hang my head in shame - a shame that has the name laziness. I have not blogged for a whole two months, but there is a reason, honest. So I have taken my (lack of) education in my hands and I have signed up for a degree with the OU. In History - my favourite subject, which is weird. Take it one step at a time, but what if.I know useless. So there you go - that's where I've been and that's. 13 Ja...
Bliss Fool: November 2007
http://blissfool.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Poet, Lover, Dreamer, Fool. Wednesday, November 14, 2007. Life is life and love is love and we cannot be part of either. Without risking also the pain of loss.". She introduced me to feminism and showed me how not to be afraid of breaking the rules. Wacky, wonderful and a total original, she could be hopelessly annoying at times, but still, the love never ran out. As for me, and for all those who loved Sue and were loved by her, our days continue. Most days it seems the world moves much too fast as w...
Bliss Fool: December 2007
http://blissfool.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Poet, Lover, Dreamer, Fool. Monday, December 31, 2007. Be willing to be a beginner every single morning.- Meister Eckhart. Well, the end of 2007 comes to a close. Our beautiful baby is wriggling around but resolutely remaining inside so it looks as though 2008 will be our birth year. We are huddled in, wrapped in the warmth of the fire and of love, counting the many blessings in life. Poem, November 27th. There is a certain peace. That falls with grief:. The first hush of snow,. Still life before the cold.

Films, food, etc. On horizons, and their broadening. Perhaps there’s more to life than food and film. I originally started this blog so that i would keep writing. that being the intended ambition, it may have been unwise to impose such smarmy limitations, or to even suggest that the only two things i actually enjoy are the aforementioned f-words. quite the contrary–there are probably at least four, maybe five other things in the world that make me happy. Los angeles, i’m yours (for now). Not bad, but cer...

Mutterings and Meanderings
Themeless - if not seamless - observations, episodes and soapbox moments, interspersed with the occasional Paddington Bear hard stare. Friday, February 06, 2009. The way we were. In a TV schedule awash with things I don't want to watch, I have been heartened by BBC2's Victorian Farm. Eventually, I found what I was looking for in the most wonderful old brown-paged volume called Economy Success Cookery. I discovered that an ox's tongue - as it is properly called - should be boiled for two and a half hours ...

So today in my devotions when I read a passage from. He Still Moves Stones. By Max Lucado it caused me to stop and reflect. Here is the passage:. Mutterings from Africa | An enterprise journey
Unlocking the potential of mobility in Africa. April 12, 2013. By Mutterings from Africa. And tagged Enterprise Mobility. I believe that Africa represents the greatest Enterprise Mobility opportunity for any network operator anywhere in the world today, it is one the last great opportunities, all MNCs are waking up to Africa, they are economically challenged in their traditional markets and are now looking for ways to sustain and grow their own organisations. On the demand side Less than 5% of MNCs have ...
