Maandag 13 februari 2012. Haiti trip: Day 7. When I wake up early sunday morning, Julio receives notice that he needs to attend a funeral from a distant family member. We change our plans to attend a Haitian church for a worship service and instead head to Montagne Noir again to attend the funeral. We get some beautiful views over Port-au-Prince. Then the funeral is suddenly over and everybody disappears. We decide to spend a few more hours in Montagne Noir, where we are treated on a nice healthy lunch, ...

Vrijdag 6 juli 2012. One day I took Jaimy to a playground I heard about. It wasn't much of a playground though. Since it's winter here there was nobody there to play. It had more turned into a 'dating park' for couples to meet up. The equipment was old and mostly non-functional. This boat was quite nice, although very heavy to push :). The good news is that this month, 3 zero's will be removed from the money to make it easier. Now already people talk in 'pins', so 5000 kwacha is 5 pin.

Zondag 29 januari 2012. Haiti trip: Day 5 (part 3). Around noon we continue our walk and visit the boys' home. When we arrive, the boys are still in school. Some work men are putting beds together and painting them. For the first time, the boys will have their own bunk beds instead of sleeping on the floor. A great moment to witness. Vrijdag 2 oktober 2009. Just some pictures to give you an impression of our summer 2009. Taking a train ride on a very old train in the Buckinghamshire Rail Museum. "Muis" also needed to be on the picture! Jaimy having fun with Dutch friend Iris. Jaimy and Shona feeding the animals in Willow's farm. A nice sunday afternoon in St. Albans park. Weekend in Holland. Dinsdag 3 juli 2012. This weekend had 2 public holidays in Zambia. Both Monday and Tuesday were holidays, so we decided to go to Livingstone to see the Victoria Falls. We went by bus, which was a 6.5 hour journey in a comfortable coach bus. The roads were good and it was nice to drive through the countryside and see something outside Lusaka. Zondag 8 november 2009. 1 jaar in Engeland! We wonen inmiddels een jaar in Engeland! Het duurt minstens een jaar om te setttelen en dat hebben we gemerkt! De vele verhuizingen hebben daarbij niet echt geholpen. Maar zo langzamerhand beginnen we ons steeds meer thuis te voelen. Vrijdag 15 juni 2012. Almost 24 hours in Zambia! I share the house with Marie-Laure, my study colleague who I’m doing the project with and Leo, a young student who has been here since September and knows all the nice places in Lusaka. We stop by at a local market for some fruit and head back to the hospital to have lunch. Then we are all so tired that we decided to head back to the house and relax. All good so far. Not much internet though… so you will have to be patient for information.
