Mystical Gypsy: July 2014
http://mysteregitan.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 3, 2014. The Love/Hate Affair of Art and Morality. I've been wanting to post some pictures from May's Blue Dome and MayFest Art Festivals. I think this might be the perfect moment. There are tons of pictures. It was hard to choose. These are from Blue Dome. MayFest will be next time. So not being a philosophy major, or even a traditional college grad, I've never explored the relationship between art and morality. Certainly, there are artists who use their gift to express spirituality.

Mystical Gypsy: It's That Time of Year!
http://mysteregitan.blogspot.com/2015/06/its-that-time-of-year.html
Tuesday, June 30, 2015. It's That Time of Year! It's summer. It's hot. That must mean it's time for church camps, day camps, and Vacation Bible Schools! Time for kids to learn about God's wondrous creation. Through making art, listening to stories, putting on plays, learning about gardening and cooking and having summer fun! I was "volunteered" to do the science activity. This was a lesson in chromatography; with the results, we made butterflies. July 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM. I'm a follower of Christ. I'...

Mystical Gypsy: August 2014
http://mysteregitan.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 27, 2014. This is a second-part response to my friend's blog about being bored with the "cookie-cutter" things of life. One of the things he would like to see is "more oddball" motorcycles. Hope this helps! These were taken at the Motorcycle Museum in Sturgis, SD last month. It's a wonderful museum! I highly recommend a stop there if you're in the area. These pix are just a very small sampling. On the flip side, here's a bike that has seen better days. Post for a friend. I want to say t...

Mystical Gypsy: June 2014
http://mysteregitan.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 7, 2014. A while back, I posted some pictures from a local antique-y place that has an 1800s motif. I said I had more pix to post but alas, I do procrastinate. Sorry it took so long, but here they are! It's called Persimmon Hollow. And sits tucked back off a busy shopping strip. It has lots of big, shady trees and the buildings are ramshackle and weathered. These are just an assortment of shots that I did some experimental editing on. Maybe that's where this guy lives! I don't believe in r...

Mystical Gypsy: Amos 5:21-24
http://mysteregitan.blogspot.com/2015/07/amos-524.html
Wednesday, July 8, 2015. Written hundreds of years ago. What a powerful message for today's western church culture. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I'm a follower of Christ. I'm not really much of a "spiritual warrior", but I will darn well beat the literal hell out of the spirit of legalism. I navigated those waters in my 30s and spent my 40s being exhausted from it. In my 50s, I have neither the time nor the patience to deal with Pharisee thinking. MG. There are only bad options; it's about finding...

Mystical Gypsy: Alfred Hitchbird
http://mysteregitan.blogspot.com/2015/06/alfred-hitchbird.html
Wednesday, June 17, 2015. If you're old enough or you watch old tv shows on cable, you might remember the Alfred Hitchcock show. This little bird reminded me of the show's opening - a silhouette of Mr. Hitchcock. There's a bird nest in the maple tree by our front door. The baby learning to fly made it as far as the window ledge. He stayed there all day. We watched his mama come feed him and his brave attempts to fly. Here's mother waiting for me to go back inside so she could serve supper. I do not care ...

Mystical Gypsy: January 2015
http://mysteregitan.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 23, 2015. Decorations glowing from the stained glass windows. The holidays are tucked away in another memory book now. We've gotten through the post-holiday "catch-up" plus some surprise life zingers. Now I have a few moments to reflect on our annual Christmas Outreach. The church next door once again loaned their facility. It's an older building with a declining congregation but they are generous, sharing a kindred spirit for helping people. Guests started lining up at 4:00 AM. Every yea...

Mystical Gypsy: Glorious Morning
http://mysteregitan.blogspot.com/2015/07/glorious-morning.html
Monday, July 13, 2015. My morning glories returned! I planted seeds in a hanging basket last year but they didn't do well. I put them in the ground hoping they would take root. Not much action there either. Maybe all the rain we've had coaxed them out this summer! Saturday morning was beautiful. Did some photography practice on the flowers catching the morning sunlight. When I typed the title to this post, Sandy Patty's voice popped in my head singing "Glorious Morning.". No tomb could hold Him. I don't ...

Mystical Gypsy: Interesting Finds at the "Junk" Shops
http://mysteregitan.blogspot.com/2014/04/interesting-finds-at-junk-shops.html
Monday, April 21, 2014. Interesting Finds at the "Junk" Shops. I love to browse the local junk/antique shops. I always go with the intention to just look, not buy, because I really don't expect to find anything I want. This is probably because of my bad experiences with garage sales. I have friends who happily boast about their amazing Saturday morning deals, but I never. Find anything at garage sales! Check out this group! They are so cheerful! Always the helpful hubby, he did and texted back the info h...

Mystical Gypsy: September 2014
http://mysteregitan.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Sugar Art at the Fair. Ok, ok.so this is a real Yorkie, not a cake. But you have to admit, they're adorable. Their cuteness caused a people-jam in the narrow aisles as we were trying to view the cake art but couldn't resist stopping to take pictures of these pampered pets in a pink stroller. Now, on to the beauty of the sugary confections! And because this is Oklahoma, here's a, um. fitting finale to the cake pix from the 2014 Tulsa State Fair. And baby lambs. Awwww! Mmmmnice...
