Trashpaddler's Waterway Wanderings: August 2015
http://www.trashpaddler.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
A paddler who brakes for trash. Sunday, August 30, 2015. Yesterday I answered the call of saltier and deeper waters by driving to Hingham Harbor and launching my boat into the incoming tide. Things were a little more mucky than I expected perhaps due to a lower than usual low tide associated with the full moon. And Grape Island along the way. Next was Quincy Bay from Nut Island to Moon Island where the Long Island Bridge previously spanned the horizon. Here's the bridge as it looked last June. It does lo...

Trashpaddler's Waterway Wanderings: Winding Down in the Valley

A paddler who brakes for trash. Thursday, August 13, 2015. Winding Down in the Valley. With yesterday's last job of the day leaving me close to the Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge boat launch, enjoying the final hours of daylight while afloat on the Nashua River seemed a capital idea. Since having launched there last Sunday and heading downriver, yesterday was an upriver trip. The day's earlier clouds had disappeared leaving bright blue sky above the Pan Am Railways bridge (opening photo). If sohow about ...

Trashpaddler's Waterway Wanderings: June 2015
http://www.trashpaddler.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
A paddler who brakes for trash. Monday, June 29, 2015. Under today's mostly cloudy skies I ventured upriver on the Sudbury starting from River Road in Wayland. Water levels are rising as a result of Sunday's rain storm. Once past Route 20, the old Central Mass Railroad trestle looked like it had been converted to a rail trail when actually the rails are still spiked in place. A belted kingfisher chattered nearby. About a half mile beyond the Power Lines fallen trees effectively block further navigation.

A paddler who brakes for trash. Tuesday, May 22, 2012. My Evolved Trash Paddling Techniques. Recently, I received the following email from fellow trashpaddler, Dan:. Recognizing that a trash patrol netting 10 items (or even 1 item) is AOK, there are times when one wishes to recover more trash than what their deck bungees will accommodate. On those occasions, folks such as Dan may find useful these evolved techniques that I presently employ:. A testament to what bungees can do! Uses on his Nashua River tr...

Trashpaddler's Waterway Wanderings: July 2015
http://www.trashpaddler.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
A paddler who brakes for trash. Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Low Down on the Assabet. Quite a contrast between last Saturday's paddling in the choppy ocean waters off of Cape Ann and today's paddling along a tranquil Assabet River in Concord. The inscription at Egg Rock was found to be high and dry. In fact finding water deep enough to paddle in the Assabet was challenging in places. These Cardinal flowers served as a reminder of how our summer is getting long in the tooth. Who was joined by an associate.
