It's the total opposite of the rural hospital we were first in, it's v clean and modern, but somehow all of us prefer the rural hospital better - medicine there is somehow more pure? Wednesday, June 25, 2008. A death in the medical family. Today, there was sad news. A fellow doctor from my tiny little island has died, from massive haemetemesis, postulated to be due to intractable ITP. much else is unknown. I didn't know him well, but i do remember the few kind words he had for a despondent medical student struggling through her OB/GYN posting, convinced she was never going to make it. Wednesday, March 25, 2009. Surgery clinicals today, hopefully i'm a clear pass! Couldn't have asked for nicer examiners (well, except one). Tired, more to come but thanks a million for all the good wishes! Final clinicals on sat and sun. 4 more days! So stressed till i cant sleep. Friday, March 20, 2009. Week 2 is down, we've trolled our way through another 3 horrifying papers plus a communications skills OSCE of 10 stations worth. Me: give iv ABx. :( OMG! Go me, i am the queen of ridiculous answers.

Tuesday, April 28, 2009. I have an ACLS test tomorrow and i'm not studying, instead i'm surfing blogs. oops! On the bright side, today was my first day shadowing! Delivery suite is interesting. My intern is a generally nice guy, not particularly warm or welcoming but i'll take a person like him over others i could mention any day! Monday, February 8, 2010. In October, I had to have emergency surgery. My IUD perforated. Can you believe that? Then she comes in and says you are not going to puke are you? They kept asking me questions of when was it placed? May Did anyone check it? Miss Sara is an active 4 year old. She keeps asking when she can go to kindegarden. I tell her in September.
