Monday, September 29, 2008. Saturday morning I get up at six thirty. I’m going to a yoga lesson at Mister Singh’s house. His daughter-in-law told me to be there at seven o’clock, “on the dot.” I can’t be late. I put on a t-shirt and track pants and walk next door. Mister Singh sends me to the third floor where his son and daughter-in-law live. Saturday, October 4, 2008. At work I finish chapter eight and take on chapter nine which seems less dense, less labyrinthine and less opaque. Work is hopeful. After work, Jonaki and Shabnum and Soma are going shopping for their maids. They want to buy them saris for the upcoming holidays. Would I like to go with? It’s quite nearby. Of course. Thursday, October 2, 2008. Here we are at the playground in the middle of Phillips Park. This was before the zoo, actually. I was having a lot of fun going up and down the slide, but the park was very crowded. There were rude and mean kids on the equipment with me and they kept pushing me. At the end of the video you can hear mommy getting mad! You don't want to know what happened after that. Let's just say there were words and then we left, to go to the zoo.
