Monday, September 04, 2006. Day of the Triffids. Yes, this is a house surrounded by attacking sunflower (triffid) plants that are almost as tall as the house. It is situated in mid-town Toronto and every summer it causes drivers to slow down and often stop! Opened in the 1880's it made bricks for thousands of Toronto homes and commercial buildings until finally closing in the 1980's when the raw materials in the quarry were all used up.
