Stories of our Ancestors. Saturday, January 11, 2014. 52Ancestors Challenge - Week 1 - Tennie Belle Holcomb. I recently ran across a blog on Ancestry.com by Amy Johnson Crow called "The 52 Ancestors Challenge". I do not claim to be a great writer, and writing this has taken me completely out of my comfort zone! This is my very first blog.ever, so please bear with me. The first ancestor I'd like to write about is my beautiful grandmother, Tennie Belle Holcomb. Don't you just love her name! My grandmother ...

My Ancestor's Leaves: 52 Ancestors Challenge - Anne Grissom Griffaw Divine Davis lived to be 104 years?? - Week 30
http://myancestorsleaves.blogspot.com/2014/08/52-ancestors-challenge-anne-grissom.html
Stories of our Ancestors. Tuesday, August 26, 2014. 52 Ancestors Challenge - Anne Grissom Griffaw Divine Davis lived to be 104 years? My last post was on Mary Elisabeth Griffaw. This week, I'm going to talk about her mother, Anne Grissom. In the Charter Baptist Church Cemetery is a headstone for Anna Griffaw, who died at age 104. I believe this is the grave of my 4th great grandmother. The stone says she was 104 years old when she died in 1885! I don't have any true proof stating Anne's maiden name was G...

http://myancestorsleaves.blogspot.com/2014/02/52ancestors-challenge-week-6-herod.html
Stories of our Ancestors. Monday, February 10, 2014. 52Ancestors Challenge - Week 6 - Herod Gibson - Gibson County, TN to De Soto, Jefferson County, MO. Well, I've had a bit of a dilema on who to write about this week. Originally, I thought I would alternate each week from my maternal side of the family to my paternal side. However, I think I'm going to stick to one side for a while. This way I can just keep researching the same line as I go instead of jumping back and forth. B1832 in South Carolina.

Stories of our Ancestors. Sunday, September 28, 2014. 52 Ancestors Challenge - Hansel Benton Coburn - b.1817 NC, d.after 1870 TX - Week 34. Hansel Benton Coburn was my 3rd great grandfather. In April I wrote about his daughter, Hannah Jane Coburn. I haven't been able to locate much on Hansel, so I'll just go over what I do know. The next mention of Hansel is on Ancestry.com in their U.S. and Canada, Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, 1500s-1900s. May 29, 1847. And what does 2 - 1/3 mean? Mariam Cobur...
