Well, here we go again. We're serving a three year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Campinas Brazil. I think this blog site will be a perfect way to share this adventure with our family and friends. So here goes nothing! Wishing you a Joyful Easter.

Marsh and Colleen: August 2010
http://marshandcolleen.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 24, 2010. Two Busy Amazing Months. Right now wherever we go the air is hazy blue with smoke from burning cane fields. Cane grown on hillsides has to be cut by hand and the fields must first be burned to be able to be harvested. The fires are not only cane fields. Small blazes are. Tuesday, August 10, 2010. The First Six Weeks. One of my responsibilities is to handle missionary health problems. At the Mission Office an elder gave me a fancy spanking new cell phone and the first time it...

Marsh and Colleen: February 2011
http://marshandcolleen.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 15, 2011. I love this view from one of the stake centers where we hold our Multi-zone Conferences. We just completed our third series of Multi-zone Conferences. Every three months we hold four of these day-long training meetings, each with three zones and around fifty missionaries. We began each Conference day at 9AM, broke at noon for the lunch hour, and ended the day around 4:30 PM. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Marsh and Colleen: September 2011

Saturday, September 3, 2011. Forty-two Wonderful Years and Counting. We are here in Salt Lake for a short time while Marsh undergoes some medical testing and we are celebrating our anniversary with a special dinner at the top of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building where we have a spectacular view of the Temple. Who would they be? Where would we make our home? What would he do for work? What experiences would we share? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Forty-two Wonderful Years and Counting.

Marsh and Colleen: Amparo and Claudio
http://marshandcolleen.blogspot.com/2011/08/amparo-and-claudio.html
Friday, August 19, 2011. One morning a few months ago,Marsh and I drove two hours to a charming little tree-shaded town called Amparo for a baptismal interview with an investigator who hoped to be baptized that afternoon. It is a city of lovely cathedrals, leafy plazas and stone streets. Claudio is on the left. This is where the Branch meets upstairs. You can see the Church's sign on the railing above Marsh and the Branch President. Amparo has a tranquil feeling in it. Love this little town. Notice the h...

Marsh and Colleen: April 2012

Friday, April 20, 2012. Family Visits in Salt Lake City. We flew 'home' to Brazil and our missionaries on September 27, 2011. We were thankful for the chance to finish our mission and very grateful for the unexpected time spent with our family in the States. Julie and the kids drove up from Huntington Beach the first weekend we were in Salt Lake City. We had a wonderful time, and even had weather warm enough to swim in the apartment pool.
