Gallery On] 자신의 얼굴을 비추는 수면(水面). 입력 : 2015.02.12 16:00. 변홍섭, 시간을 찍다. 사진은 이미 있는 것, 존재하는 것에 기생한다. 그 사물의 표면에 다가가 렌즈를 갖다 댄다. 그런데 이 사진은 정작 대상은 부재하고 그 대상이 비춰진 수면에 초점을 맞추었다. 대상 없는 곳에서 대상이 보여 진다. 결국 이 사진은 허상, 환영을 찍고 있다. 그 이미지는 이른바 유령이고 귀신같은 이미지다. 있다고 하기도 어렵고 없다고 말하기도 애매하다. 그림자, 잔영은 그런 것이다. 사실 모든 이미지는 환영이다. 최초의 이미지는 수면에 비친 누군가의 상이었다. Gallery On] 새로운 회화적 대화를 하려는 그의 시도. 입력 : 2014.11.24 16:41. 천눈이, 비정규적 기호들의 놀이. 나의 작업은 인간이 바라보는 낯선 실체의 기준에 대한 의문에서 시작된다. 약속된 시각적 언어를 잃어버린 미지의 풍경들이다. 고요한 기호들의 순환(oil on canvas,73 91cm, 2013). 추상적 기호들만을 이용해서 풍경을 연출함으로써 상상해 볼 수 있는 여지를 남겨둔다. 즉 의미가 상실된 잠재적 기호들에서 오는 소통의 부재로, 또 다른 소통의 통로를 만들고자 한다. 가공 되어지지 않고, 정의 되어지지 않은 날것의 형상들은 태초의 생명성을 지니지만, 인식의 기억을 빗겨나가기만 한다.
