My Atlanta Kitchen: May 2010

http://www.myatlantakitchen.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

Friday, May 28, 2010. Here is the finished product from the photos below. This gratin was made with shallot, zucchini, and tomato, however eggplant is a good addition/substitution as is yellow squash, bell pepper, or fennel. Really whatever sounds good to you can be thinly sliced and layered in this easy dish. Here are a few more ideas for this recipe; fresh basil, mozzarella layer, roasted garlic, yummy. 1 zucchini, very thinly sliced (I used the good ol' mandolin). 1 small shallot, thinly sliced. I hop...

Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Roast Chicken Round 2. I made the roast chicken again over the weekend and again it did not disappoint. I had fingerling potatoes from the CSA. So they went in the pan with the chicken and cooked along side it. I have been reading lots of Patricia Wells cookbooks lately and made a recipe for Zucchini Crepes from her book Bistro Cooking. They were wonderful and although I don't have a photo I will share the recipe because the crepes were so easy and yummy. Thursday, June 10, 2010.

My Atlanta Kitchen: January 2010

http://www.myatlantakitchen.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Saturday, January 30, 2010. This is usually something I make in the summer when I have lots of yummy tomatoes in hand. Right now it's cold and it's rainy and I miss summer! I miss it so much I've been cooking some "summery" dishes because I honestly am sick of all the winter food. No more roasts and casseroles.I'm over it! Pasta - angel hair nests are my favorite for fast cook time, but a spaghetti or like shape and size will work well. Garlic - one small clove per person, minced. Olive oil - approximate...

Om Nom Nom Nom Nom. A place for non-chefs to display their personal accomplishments in the art of culinary awesomeness. Monday, June 7, 2010. Chicken on a Bun. This was a great substitution for the burger I was craving. I marinated a bone-in chicken breast in Stubb's BBQ Sauce. Threw on the grill for 2 minutes per side on the Searing side of the grill and then an additional 20 minutes on the Regular side of the grill. Om Nom Nom Nom Nom. A place for non-chefs to display their personal accomplishments in the art of culinary awesomeness. Monday, June 28, 2010. Cabbage rolls and tofu vegetable soup. So we got a big ol' head of Chinese cabbage in our CSA a few weeks ago and we had a good bit of pulled chicken left over from Lowcountry BBQ. My Atlanta Kitchen | Simple & Gracious Living

Simple and Gracious Living. October 21, 2013. It has been a while since I took the time to post online my adventures in cooking. I had a short-lived blog. But I was cooking out of an approximately 3′ x 3′ kitchen where the washing machine also served as counter space. It was interesting and by the end of our stay in that old house, the cozy kitchen had grown on me. It never did become conducive to great photography or too much inspiration though. Ps This is just a favorite photograph from Thanksgiving la...
