Hair of the Dog brewery company based in Portland, Oregon started brewing beer in 1993. They released their first beer, Adam in 1994. The head slowly subsides leaving a thin layer of fine bubbled froth and a beautiful web of fine delicate lacing on the glass. Strong scent of fruits and hops. La Folie 2010 (6% ABV). Green Flash Imperial IPA (9.4% ABV) →. September 7, 2011 · 7:25 pm. Stone Old Guardian Barley Wine Style Ale 2011 (ABV 12%). Poured from a bottle into an Imperial ping glass. Thin head that didn’t last long – completely dissipated. Left no lacing. Light rusted copper color. Sweet bitterness, hoppy with a hint of alcohol. Hoppiness combines with a sticky malty sweetness. Bitterness that subsides towards the finish leaving a bread alcohol taste. Medium body with a sticky dry finish.

September 25, 2011 · 6:59 pm. Consecration – Russian River Brewing Co. (10% ABV). Poured into a Russian River glass. Pours a dark reddish chestnut brown with lots of carbonation coming from the bottom (almost looks like a sake soda). Almost no head, just a thin layer kept alive from the heavy flow of bubbles. Sour apple and berries, with a hint of sweet wine smell coming from the barrels. Smooth, light bodied, and crisp – which is surprising given the amount of carbonation. Filed under Beer Reviews.
