These removable retainers are meant to prevent a relapse of my bite. Here’s a picture of the trays on my teeth. For the rest of my life. I’m adjusting to my new smile and enjoying my new bite. If the total recovery period for double jaw surgery is one year, then this whole process, from start (braces) to finish (one year post-op) has taken 1 year, 8 months and 11 days. Here’s a list of the supplies that really helped me at the hospital and during my recovery at home. I recommend transferring some of these products to travel-sized bottles (I bought some from the dollar store). That way when you get home from the hospital, you can put your supplies on a tray that you can carry to and from your bedroom.
