Life with the five: A new year, its 2013
http://mychildrensmother.blogspot.com/2013/01/a-new-year-its-2013.html
Saturday, January 12, 2013. A new year, its 2013. Its hard to believe I haven't blogged since October. It has been a busy few months in our household. All the kids are growing up and I do wish time would slow down so I could appreciate it more. We have been fortunate in having the opportunities to do other roadtrips around Victoria which we enjoy. We saw the new year in the city of Melbourne watching the fireworks. If you want to see my latest photos. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Where you find me?
Life with the five: October 2012
http://mychildrensmother.blogspot.com/2012/10/october-2012.html
Monday, October 15, 2012. Its been a while. Since I last posted, my Mum married and moved to the US; my forth child, J turned 4 and my husband has been through a long arduous recruitment process for a new job. He is almost through so fingers crossed. In an anti family kind of world where individualism is not often respected, its been a journey. To be honest, unjobbing would be ideal but the job he is applying for would suit him well and its better than where he works now. Day is interested in food, what ...

Life with the five: Losing our son.
http://mychildrensmother.blogspot.com/2014/10/losing-our-son.html
Wednesday, October 01, 2014. My oldest son (second child) was born 22nd April 2003. It was a hard pregnancy, no morning sickness to speak of, just one day of hay fever (very unusual for me) but he felt so heavy especially towards the end. He stayed in utero for 42 weeks. He arrived into the world spontaneously and naturally. The birth was difficult, even traumatic. It lead me to thoughts of homebirth. We stayed in that council building for fifteen minutes. When I say severe eczema, I mean it looked horre...

Living the Thrifty Life: Don’t be too quick to dismiss a Doorknocker
http://livingthethriftylife.blogspot.com/2010/10/dont-be-too-quick-to-dismiss.html
Tuesday, October 19, 2010. Don’t be too quick to dismiss a Doorknocker. Apart from some of the leaflets that I have already read and discarded, this little pack is going to be very handy for me. I’m making more of an effort to exercise these days, and now I’m privy to the best areas to walk/cycle/play and I have the tools to take with me. Living the Thrifty Life: A day at the V8’s for under $30
http://livingthethriftylife.blogspot.com/2010/10/day-at-v8s-for-under-30.html
Monday, October 25, 2010. A day at the V8’s for under $30. I love the V8’s. This may have a little bit to do with my Dad being a petrol head and me being his little tomboy when I was growing up, or maybe just because I’m a proud Aussie chick. Either way, I love them. This year I really, really, really wanted to take Jasper to see them but, as usual for October, finances are super tight, so the possibility of going was unlikely. So I put it out there. So off to the V8’s we went. That’s a saving of. And al...

Living the Thrifty Life: Maternity Sale at Kmart
http://livingthethriftylife.blogspot.com/2011/02/maternity-sale-at-kmart.html
Saturday, February 19, 2011. Maternity Sale at Kmart. In my last post I mentioned that a lot has been happening in my life, so let me explain. Firstly, Jasper's father and I are back together and going strong. We had a much needed break that seems to be what saved our relationship and are now confident that we are meant to be together. On a more shocking and unexpected note, we are also expecting a sibling for Jasper in August! So my belly has swollen dramatically (I'm only 15 weeks along! I'm a single f...

Rainbow Selkie: Babushka/Matroyshka Invitations
http://rainbowselkie.blogspot.com/2013/05/babushkamatroyshka-invitations.html
A record of the creative endeavours of one selkie loving, rainbow obsessed woman. Wednesday, May 1, 2013. When I was pregnant with each of my girls I had a blessingway (or mother shower - an alternative to a baby shower, where the focus is on the mother and supporting her in preparing for an empowering birth experience). Both times I felt babushkas were necessary for my hand crafted invitations to guests. In 2007 I made these simple cards:. In 2010 I found this template. And then for the details. By the ...
