Wednesday Night Dates | Literacy Spotlight
https://literacyspotlight.wordpress.com/2015/03/25/wednesday-night-dates
Making Literacy the Star in K-5 Classrooms. Jaana on Lessons from Slicing. My mother-in-law had recently begun to pick up my son from the babysitters on Wednesdays. It started as a way for my husband and I to both be free for an evening together to work on the new house. Now, there’s little left for me to do at the new house. Even so, she seems to want to keep her Wednesday night date and I am happy to let her. March 25, 2015. 3 thoughts on “ Wednesday Night Dates. March 25, 2015 at 9:26 pm. You are comm...

How would we respond to a student who used this statement? Does the act of writing require energy? So many questions. I should write about th….zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. https://myrandomwonderings.wordpress.com/2015/03/30/sol15-day-30-stop-and-breathe
Sol15 Day #30 Stop and Breathe. This morning I flicked on the light in my classroom not really sure what to expect. Having been out on Friday and away over the weekend, I was anxious to be get back up to speed. As I approached my desk, I noticed it was cleaner than normal because I had picked up more thoroughly for the substitute teacher on Friday. It was nice to walk in and not have “to do” piles all over. Then I got busy…. I read through the notes from the sub and recycled them. It is the same coffee I...

We all want to be able to play something, but it’s hard to spend time practicing, especially in in our society where instant gratification is the norm. Terrie's Tantalizing Tidbits #sol15.

#sol15 Day #31 Goals | My Random Wonderings
https://myrandomwonderings.wordpress.com/2015/03/31/sol15-day-31-goals
Sol15 Day #31 Goals. Today I have felt beaten down, exhausted, struggling to stay focused. This is a temporary state I know… still recovering from a busy weekend. But, it was getting me down. Smaller troubles seem bigger when I am tired. I pushed on… I was my best teacher self today, fulfilled my mom role and pushed myself to go to yoga instead of laying down on the couch. As I was leaving class I saw this poster…. This small quote helped me feel better…. I know I can do this. March 31, 2015. Fill in you...

Strawberry Season | My Random Wonderings
https://myrandomwonderings.wordpress.com/2015/06/30/strawberry-season
We are in the midst of prime strawberry picking season here in Maine. I wish I could say I make it out to pick strawberries every year but I don’t. We get busy, the weather is poor and before I know it I miss the small window when I can pick berries. We made our way down the country roads that lead to the farm on banks of the Kennebec River. As we got closer the road narrowed and turned to dirt. We enjoyed views of Merrymeeting Bay with the water sparkling and bright blue sky. 8220;The berries are much s...

https://myrandomwonderings.wordpress.com/2015/08/11/slice-of-life-august-a-k-a-the-sunday-of-summer
Slice of Life: August a.k.a the Sunday of Summer. A friend shared this meme today and it reflects how I have been feeling since August 1st. August feels like the Sunday of summer when my time is my own but I have work I should be doing and time is running out. I dread this time of year when “Back to School” supplies are on display. They serve as a reminder to all the good intentions I started the summer with…. Professional reading plans…. House organization and clean out projects…. Gradually I began to f...

Making Literacy the Star in K-5 Classrooms. Jaana on Lessons from Slicing. We have spent a lot of time time looking at, thinking about, and discussing paint colors. The names are all so descriptive. I am convinced companies make them so wonderful to say so you don’t try to rip your hair out while deciding. Some of my favorites in a rainbow…. Market flower, berry blush, magic wand.
