my climbing tree...: February 2012

http://myclimbingtree.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Ideas for a wild childhood. Tuesday, February 07, 2012. A winter walk and imbolc. In my last post. beauty and bread. I wrote about the fast roads on the way to Calcot. What I didn't write about was the magic we had when we got there. Thanks to my friend Kristal over at Little Drops of Awen,. H and I were given an insight into the very ancient tradition of Imbolc. Onward into the woods to find snowdrops, feathers, pine cones and ladybirds. H, G and E climbed everything they could find. Nature is just so s...

my climbing tree...: ...Lower Wallop...

http://myclimbingtree.blogspot.com/2012/06/lower-wallop.html

Ideas for a wild childhood. Sunday, June 10, 2012. I'm in love with a farm. Last September I met the Roberts family who live at Lower Wallop. They have three hundred acres of organic food, semi-ancient woods, bats, barn owls and otters. I haven't felt able to blog for a month, as I've been so busy exploring the farm and helping Angus and Mandy open their farm gates to the local community. Six months of planning led to an event called a BioBlitz. Peter keeping the kids happy with gruesome tales of bones.

my climbing tree...: January 2012

http://myclimbingtree.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Ideas for a wild childhood. Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Journey to the centre of the earth. I like people who challenge my view of everyday things. Take this rock for example. I see cold, hard rock but the brilliant Liz Etheridge. Manages to paint a picture of. Liz and I met for a chat in a local cafe and took this rock with us. Ignoring the sideways glances from other cafe-goers, we stared at the rock, pointed at its tiny crystals and tried to figure out how it had come to be. Links to this post. It's ha...

my climbing tree...: New year, new beginnings

http://myclimbingtree.blogspot.com/2013/01/new-year-new-beginnings.html

Ideas for a wild childhood. Sunday, January 13, 2013. New year, new beginnings. What a start to 2013! I am about to launch "My Climbing Tree" as a new business. It's taken a lot of thought, but my simple aim is to connect communities to wildlife at a grassroots level. This means I will be getting out the maps and discovering local allotments, school growing projects, Forest Schools and walking groups. Anyone who values their plot of greenspace can get involved. I will also share some of my favourite plac...

my climbing tree...: March 2012

http://myclimbingtree.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Ideas for a wild childhood. Saturday, March 31, 2012. Please read this inspiring report. Realeased today by the National Trust, written by Stephen Moss. It's evidence based writing on the fact that our children are losing access to nature. Wild places are not just for the middle classes who can afford large private gardens, it should be for everyone and within easy access of where you and I live. Can this type of environment be described as part of a sustainable future? Links to this post. Over the past ...

Little drops of Awen: February 2012

http://littledropsofawen.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Little drops of Awen. Friday, 17 February 2012. Sometimes, plastic tat rules. I made a confession yesterday; I like things that are kitsch and silly and just a bit tacky. Not all the time, we like lovely wooden toys and handmade things, chickens and bees and wholesome country living and all that kind of thing. Sometimes though, I see something so delightfully, whimsically. That I just have to have it. Take these guys, for example. Some serious spellcasting going on here:. Thursday, 16 February 2012.

Little drops of Awen. Thursday, 2 February 2012. Blessings of Imbolc/Gwyl Ffraid. Just a quick one today to share a few photos, very tired and very full of cold but we had a lovely day. We went on an expedition to find lambs and snowdrops with Gethin's friends H and E. We should definitely have more winter picnics! Our gradually evolving seasonal altar:. 3 February 2012 at 07:55. Little drops of Awen: March 2012

http://littledropsofawen.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Little drops of Awen. Thursday, 1 March 2012. Spring sunshine and nettle soup. As I type this sunlight is streaming in through open windows, bringing with it a fresh breeze and the sound of birdsong. We have crocuses, cowslips and primroses in the garden, catkins and pussy willow in the hedgerows. Washing is drying on the line outside and all feels right with the world. Spring is here, no matter what the calendars say. We have photographic evidence! The change of season is reflected indoors, too. Gather ...

Little drops of Awen: The History of the Heart, part one.

http://littledropsofawen.blogspot.com/2012/02/history-of-heart-part-one.html

Little drops of Awen. Wednesday, 1 February 2012. The History of the Heart, part one. First of all, I’d just like to make something clear; it may appear from reading this blog that we’re somehow ‘hot housing’ our children or forcing them to learn solely about our own religion and culture. This is far from being the case; obviously I only write about the things we do that are relevant to readers. We read very widely and encourage him to learn anything that interests him. Most of all, we play. We should le...

Little drops of Awen. Tuesday, 25 September 2012. Children, Magic and Pagan Practice. Firstly, apologies for taking a break of several months. The summer months have been suitably hectic and I have had little time or energy for writing. Blessings of the Autumn Equinox to everyone! I have just read a great blog post by. International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). To be creative and that far more can be achieved with the help and involvement of children than we ever imagined. Public and c...

Little drops of Awen. Monday, 30 January 2012. And just because I love it so much, here's a photo of my little wild thing from the weekend. x. Sunday, 29 January 2012. Tyler's Climbing Adventures. 5 Recent Songs (by Popular Artists) that are Epics. June 25, 2014. When I think of an epic song, I don’t mean it in the sense of the word that is grossly overused today. Ideas for a wild childhood. Friday, February 28, 2014. Wild walks to school. Mornings in term time are hectic. I get up earlier and earlier in order to try and get out of the house on time, but always end up with the last minute rush to get to school. School is only a ten minute walk away, but with Harry it could take anything up to an hour if I let him! This morning, however, I left a whole half hour earlier and let Harry follow his nose, so to speak. I think kids are fascinated. Yelled Harry. "BLOW!

Tuesday, April 19, 2011. WH Murray, a Scottish mountain climber and writer:. Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative and creativity there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans:. That the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. 8216;Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it; boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.’”.

Thursday, 23 August 2007. Trip to Ceou and Campagne in France. I've just got back from a nice relaxing holiday in south-west France! My other half, Emily, booked it and the main purpose was to eat, sleep and sunbathe. That said, I couldn't resist popping to two nearby crags and seeing what they had to offer. The first place we visited was Ceou – more information available here. There is also some information in French he. Or you can try the Google translation. The second place we.
