Stuff I learned the hard way. VMWare guest running Server 2008 R2 and NIC Problems. Been fighting with a couple guest VMs running Windows Server 2008 R2 on ESXi. I encountered lots of problems with the NIC after deploying from a template, or cloning the guest. The symptoms were:. Network discovery icon in the system tray would spin for a long time then report a red X. From the icon, selecting “Troubleshoot Problems” would never complete. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Stuff I learned the hard way. Svn caret url shortcut on windows. The shortcut in SVN urls is pretty handy. If you need to type in a svn URL into the command line, you can avoid typing the full url in by using the character. The character represents the root URL as shown by svn info. One small complication in windows, is that is a special character in the command line, so if you want to use this feature you need to include two carets. ie svn sw /branches/superawesomebranch. ISDEV : error -4072: Error retr...

ResXFileCodeGeneratorEx not working in Visual Studio 2010 | Code Notes Blog
https://mycodenotes.wordpress.com/2014/10/10/resxfilecodegeneratorex-not-working-in-visual-studio-2010
Stuff I learned the hard way. ResXFileCodeGeneratorEx not working in Visual Studio 2010. Working on a project that was recently upgraded from Visual Studio 2008 to 2010. I couldn’t figure out why the resx designer files were not updating after updating the resx file. Turned out that the project was using ResxXFileCodeGeneratorEx to generate resx assemblies. This allowed the resources to be exposed with public visibility rather than internal visibility. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

Friday, July 4, 2008. Creating your own Certificate Authority using OpenSSL. It took me a long time to put all this together, but now it seems extremely simple. I hope it comes in handy to others who are trying to setup a private CA. There are three parts:. A) Creating a Certificate Authority. B) Setting up the Server(Tomcat). C) Setting up the client. This article does not cover certificate revocation. A) Creating a Certificate Authority. There are two ways to do this. Using scripts provided by OpenSSL.

Stuff I learned the hard way. Demystifying the maven-release-plugin next version logic. I tried to determine the algorithm that the maven release plugin uses to update the release number for one of my projects. I didn’t have much luck with google to find out how the update works. I didn’t want to experiement with by build server since release process also created source control tags, and publishes the build to a maven repo. Grapes( @Grab(group='org.apache.maven.release', module='maven-release...I found t...

Life is like a roller coaster. Just hold on tight when it's going down.
Sunday, June 30, 2013. 10 April 2013 - Physio. After months of nagging pains on my left knee, I decided to finally go for physiotherapy sessions after I qualified as an AFT. When I reached there, they basically did a normal physical assessment. It felt like Embarrassing Me 101. Apparently, I have horrible balance and stability and extremely tight calves, ITB, hamstring and quads. All these factors resulted in my runners knee condition, otherwise known as, left patellofemoral pain syndrome. Before I share...
