Through the Cottage Door: March 2015
http://cottagedoorstudio.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Through the Cottage Door. Sunday, March 15, 2015. The signs of spring are everywhere, but perhaps the most exciting sign of spring within myself is that rekindled desire to paint and paint and paint. I wake up in the morning eager to look at the paper and paint laid out on my drafting table from the night before. What did the paint do? How did the colors change? Stand back and look. What is the next step? Baptism (From River People, cElizabeth Roth). Cottage Door Studio - Elizabeth Roth, Illustrator.

Through the Cottage Door: Going Blank?
http://cottagedoorstudio.blogspot.com/2015/02/going-blank.html
Through the Cottage Door. Monday, February 9, 2015. Perhaps it is precisely in these "blank" paralyzing times that I need to remember that Christ is beside me, standing near me as I lay in my bed worrying, as I sit at my desk at work, when I am intimidated, or when I fail. Jesus "approaches" me, and he approaches you. He extends his strong, muscular arm to us. Can't you just see it? He "grasps" (what a wonderful word) my hand and your hand in his own warm and sure hand. Can't you just feel it?

Through the Cottage Door. Sunday, November 30, 2014. Through the Cottage Door". How do you balance the need to paint (or to do whatever form your passion takes) with other parts of your life during this busy season? How do we sustain those relationships, our prayer-life, housework, etc. and also challenge ourselves to produce beautiful and successful paintings? Because I love most of all to paint people, and if you and I exchange thoughts, you will help me learn more about myself and about the people in ...

Through the Cottage Door: February 2015
http://cottagedoorstudio.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Through the Cottage Door. Sunday, February 22, 2015. This is what is called the Chaussee, a bar of land and sand on which our road is built between two sides of the bay at Lake Erie. Hoarfrost covered the willows that border the Chaussee and Danny and I trudged in the deep snow to capture this moment. Isn't God's creation breathtaking? Aren't precious moments of sharing joy like this an opportunity for the spirit to soar? Cottage Door Studio - Elizabeth Roth, Illustrator. Thursday, February 12, 2015.
